Her lullaby resounded through the halls. That's all he would play.
She was all he could think of, and all that he wanted. He messed things up again.
He hated that dog, he was so irresponsible.
He felt so guilty, so lost.
He was useless, pointless, a lost cause. Even Alice had given up.
He was alone. She was gone, and it was all his fault.
Yet they were both there.
Bella's funeral was beautiful, but Alice wasn't there to bask in the glory of a job well done.
I can't believe I lost control like that, I only remember her saying that she loved him...and then it got dark, and it's all my fault it's all my fault it's all my fault my Bella is gone and she's not here. She's not here. She's gone, gone, gone
"My Bella was a smart girl, with a good head on her shoulders. We had our fights, you and I, but I'm glad she was with you, Ed. Thank you for making her happy, even if I couldn't."
Edward merely nodded. Charlie walked away, unable to speak.
Jacob ran. Go get out, run, get away, from everything, all of them, yourself. This is all your fault, Jacob Black. You killed her. You lost control, of your body, your mind. Your heart is no longer human.
The Cullens left Forks. Edward didn't leave. Her lullaby is the only thing keeping him together, but playing it is tearing him apart. He plays, and plays, and his piano is out of tune. His life is out of tune. He's become what she kept him from being. A monster.
