The little girl was dressed in white. Her skin was pale, as shockingly white as fresh snow, and her lips too red in contrast. She was young, though her face was void of any sort of innocence. Her icy eyes stared into Sally's, then she cocked her head to the side. Slowly, an amused smile spread across her face. She lifted her bag of candy, already full, but her tiny arms had no problem lifting it.

"Trick-or-Treat?"

Sally reached behind, grabbed the bowl of candy, tossing a few into her bag. As she locked the door, Sally reminded herself that monsters didn't exist.

Percy wanted to go out for Halloween. Sally couldn't help but curse the people at the daycare who introduced the idea of going up to random people and getting candy from them, but she figured it would be inevitable. He would have found out about it anyways, in two short years he would be heading for kindergarten and they would probably do Halloween crafts.

She would just take him to a few houses. After she would sort through his candy and make sure no one was handing out poisoned candy and she'd eat a few. He probably wouldn't notice.

What could go wrong?

Since Percy was ten, he figured he was independent, and therefore, perfectly capable of going Trick-or-Treating by himself. But their part of New York was shady, even without the possibility of monster.

Reluctantly, she helped him put a zombie costume together, and Sally helped him put on a bunch of fake makeup until his skin was a deathly pale, like that girl all those years ago.

She sent him off with a promise that he'd be home by nine. He came back with a grin and a bag of candy, and thankfully the scariest thing either of them saw that night was Smelly Gabe.

So yeah I kind of wrote these when I was excited for Halloween. I'm kinda meh about them. Just trying out some new things… yeah… I'm in a bad mood.

For anyone that cares; the total words of the drabbles adds up to 310, like 31 with a 0 on the end. Didya see what I did there?
