Slightly AU Jori.
Disclaimer: I am not Dan Schneider, no.
Beck's hand wraps around Jade's over the table and you can see them, everyone can see them, and you can't stand it.
She pulls her hand away from his, playing it off like she's tightening the lid on her bottle of water, but she tucks her arms together afterward and doesn't look at him.
Instead she looks at you.
You don't know if you make her nervous or if she's planning on telling the whole school about the feelings you told her that you had for her, what you do know is that she's not making your life easy, but then again, she's never done that.
Even now in front of her boyfriend, your best friend, she's rubbing her boot against your jeans and weather or not she knows it's your leg she's kicking is a mystery to you.
Beck suggests you go to a Drive-In movie tonight with the whole gang and she just looks at you, which she does less and less of anymore, and you can't tell if she wants you there or not. Beck does and so you say yes because he's still your friend.
You spend the time between lunch and the movie, which is more than a few hours, thinking about Jade.
You think about her eyes looking into your eyes as you told her that you wanted her.
You think about her face and how vulnerable she looked as you told her that you'd do anything for her.
You think about how you told her that you knew more about her than you should know, that you could treat her right, that you could love her more than anything else, and that you would if she'd let you.
You think about her walking away from you after you almost kissed her.
You think about how she got back together with Beck the next day.
You think about how she swore to you that you didn't know her, anything about her, and how she told you that you couldn't love her.
You think about how much it hurt when she said she couldn't love you back.
Soon enough it's eight o'clock and you're at the Drive-In sitting down on one of the swings in the back, it's already dark out and cold too, thanks to the fall weather.
You assume that Jade only wanted to scope out the rusted playground equipment and didn't actually expect to find you where she did.
You didn't realize that she was alone at first but she sat down beside you and kept quiet as she thread her hand through yours.
The action surprised you and you looked up to find her crying.
"We broke up" She whispered, still not looking your way.
You got the hint that she was here alone after a few minutes when nobody showed up to look for her.
You weren't sure how to comfort her exactly, weren't sure how to tell her it would be okay when you weren't even sure yourself.
You didn't know what to do or how to do it, so you did nothing by sitting there on the swing, staring at her, and holding her hand.
"I'm not in love with him.." She informed you halfway through the movie.
"You already know why.." She admitted finally looking up at you.
"I love you, Jade.." You say, squeezing her hand in yours.
She nods and leans over to you kiss you.
You don't know if she trusts herself to love you like you do but you kiss her back and swear to her that she'll never have to worry about losing you.
She says you're all she thinks about and she wants you too, and it's kind of all you can think about for the next few minutes until she kisses you again as the credits roll.
The lights turn on and she tightens her grip around your shoulders, and you know that everyone can see you, but you're still kissing her and you couldn't stand for pulling away.
