'X' MARKS THE SPOT

A/N: Oookie. Here's the first story coughdrabblecough from SAXY. Stolen from GIN's prompt list but shh, don't tell her that. Prompt #12, Tree. I'll make you proud Ginny, you'll see :D (By the way. That's Ginny as in GINEXA, not the one from Harry Potter. Meh.)

Namine traced her fingers over the rough bark. The tree stood tall and wide, making the light gloomier than it already was, thanks to those heavy black clouds blowing s-l-o-w-l-y over.

Namine continued running her pale hands over the tree, until she felt a large groove.

Too large to be part of the natural grooves in the bark, and running against the grain. There it was.

"X marks the spot!" he had said, whipping out a penknife and cutting the tree. It suffered soundlessly, except for the rustling of leaves.

"This is our tree. Our place to come when we need to talk. This is the spot. 'Kay Namine?"

"Sure," she had replied. "I'll come here whenever I need you."

Well I need you now, Namine thought, one hand on the cut in the tree and the other hanging limply by her side.

I need you now and you're gone.

A drop of rain splashed onto her cheek.

A/N: Emo-y. I went over the limit damnit.
