This is just a little something I wrote yesterday in memory of Elisabeth Sladen. It's only now that I can think about her death with enough sanity to write any sort of memorial, and even now it can't possibly do her justice. She was my hero, and affected my life in so many wonderful ways. Although I was able to thank her personally, I don't think it will ever truly be enough.
I would like to dedicate this to, of course, the lovely Elisabeth Sladen, but also to Spydurwebb. Thank you for understanding just how I was feeling on that day when no one else possibly could.

"A Single Tear"
I shed a single tear for you this morning.
It's not quite like it used to be.
This aching pain has faded much,
I've regained some semblance of sanity.
This life continues plodding onward,
As if it takes no notice of your loss.
I confess to despising it erratically,
How could the universe not count the cost?
I shed a single tear for you today.
As the memories, they begin to fade.
Somehow the noise, the light, the dust,
Don't seem quite the appropriate accolade.
It all seems so unfair,
A pointless, foolish waste.
From dreams you wove into this world,
Why must we wake in such haste?
I shed a single tear for you this evening.
What twas meant for this span?
This time so short yet vibrant,
Seems altogether too short for His plan.
A single tear falls not now,
As waning to naught does the light.
A pool of sorrow gathers at my feet,
Whilst my soul does lament for you this night.
