Gibbs woke up in the squad room and relied he overslept again while working on the paper works. He looked at the clock and it pointed at 12 o'clock midnight. It was late but his day was never been the same when Ziva was not here. He turned his head to Ziva's desk and sighed, and then he went back to where he left off before he fell asleep.
"Gibbs…" someone called out Gibbs but when he looked around, no one was there, just a dark and quite room. Probably, he was imaging. However, when he focused back on the papers, the voice started again. Gibbs put down the pen on the desk and stood up. He walked toward the hallway and looked around again to make sure that he did not image. And again, there was absolutely no one there, except him and… a fly. He wondered but could not have a clear explanation so he just went back to his desk.
Suddenly, a cold wind blew out from nowhere and it made Gibbs felt chilly. The light started flashing like something weird might happen.
"Gibbs, long times no see!" A soft and familiar voice started to speak. Gibbs still could not identify where it came from.
"Who is there?" Gibbs asked but was still unsure about what he heard.
"It's me, Gibbs," a blurry image began to form and pretty fast Gibbs just stood there like a statue. The person appeared front of Gibbs was someone he never forgot for the rest of his life, Kate.
"Kate?" Gibbs asked with a surprising face and it was true with anyone who in the same situation. The one he saw right now, supported to be death for more than five years. The only explanation was he was either dreaming or something hit his head without his knowledge and he was dreaming…
"Don't be surprise Gibbs and you're not dreaming," Kate stated her words as she knew what was happening in Gibbs's head.
"Then… what am I looking at?" Gibbs was still unsure.
"Can't answer you that, Gibbs," Kate smiled and answered, "I have something to tell you, so sit down because this conversation may take a little bit long."
Gibbs nodded and sat down while Kate was pulling a chair to his desk.
"What do you want to tell me?" Gibbs asked while stared at Kate.
"I know that there is a new girl in the team. Well, for five years, she is not new for you but for me she is." Kate started to mumble like Abby, "I also know that she wants to depart from the team for a while and I know you worry about her…"
"Kate!" Gibbs went back to his normal attitude, he cut off her sentence.
"Ok, boss. For some reasons I noticed that she left something here that addressed to you. I am not sure what that was but I know it in her desk's draw. So if you cannot let her out of your mind, look for it." Kate smiled happily and the light suddenly flashed. The whole room became dark in just a minute and when Gibbs could see everything, Kate was gone as she was never here.
…
"Gibbs!"
"Huh? What?"
Gibbs raised his head and answered to whoever called him.
"Gibbs, are you alright?" Abby looked close to Gibbs's face.
"Nothing," Gibbs denied, "What are you doing here so early?"
"Early? It's almost 12 o'clock at noon. You slept on your desk for the whole time." Abby said.
"Oh, ok," Gibbs seemed he did not really care about the time. He remembered about what Kate said in his blurry memory. He walked toward Ziva's desk and pulled out the drawers out.
"To Gibbs…" A letter was in one of the drawers.
Gibbs held the letter in his hand but for some reasons he chose not to open it. He put it back to the drawer and walked away from the squad room. He wanted to receive the letter from Ziva's hands as he wished she would come back for this silly reason…
It was raining for the whole week and for the first time, the rain stopped and opened a new bright day…
