The grounds of Hogwarts School were being pelted by a flash rainstorm. The quidditch game had been canceled, and so had all Care of Magical Creatures lessons. Good. Thought Neville as he quickly rounded a corner, running to Transfiguration behind the rest of the 5th years, I don't want to go out in this rain! No one would! As he passed a window, however, he looked out and saw a girl, maybe 13, with dark black hair, and soaked robes. What's she doing outside? Neville thought, Is she lost? Neville doubted that, 3rd years usually knew their way around. The girl looked sad.

"Er…..hi. My names…Neville," said an unknown voice from above the 3rd year.
Astoria looked up. It was a Gryffindor. He had ruffled hair and was on the chubby side.
"I'm…..Astoria," said the girl, sniffling.
"What's wrong?" asked Neville.
"It's nothing… it's just, I was sorted into Slytherin 3 years ago, but I don't feel accepted by my housemates. None of them like me!" she wailed.
"Er….it's okay. I'm sure they like you. I like you, you seem nice. Do you want to go for a walk?" asked Neville, not really sure what to do, but hoping to cheer the girl up.
"Yes….I'd like that." Answered the black haired girl and she stood up. Neville summoned them an umbrella and they started down the stone walkway.
The wind pounded against the umbrella, threatening to blow it away. The pair walked slowly, barely holding on and getting hit by stinging raindrops.
"So, what's the Slytherin common room like?" asked Neville, awkwardly.
"Well, it's dark, and greenish. There is some light, but it all feels cold," she said, "I don't particularly like it there," she added.
"Oh, well—Whoa!!" Astoria had slipped on wet leaves and was now tumbling towards the ground. Neville threw the umbrella to the ground and rain in front to break the fall.
As Astoria tumbled into Neville's face, their lips locked for a few seconds, before breaking apart. Astoria, embarrassed, stood up, grabbed the umbrella and walked away quickly.
"G'bye," called Neville, feebly. His first kiss, with a girl he hardly knew, fantastic.
