A/N: I was daydreaming about how my boyfriend and I were going to get engaged. "She's Everything" is our song, and the 10th grade cadet ball stuff is true.

It was the day of the cadet ball, the last one of their high school career. Mike was already in his Air Force JROTC uniform in anticipation, even if it was 3 hours away. He rang the doorbell, nervous as a turkey in Thanksgiving morning. He was going to ask for his girlfriend's hand in marriage. Gideon answered the door.

"Oh hi Mike. Becca's not here right now. She's getting ready at Emily's." Gideon said cheerfully. He'd always liked Mike. For the 3 years mike had gone out with his daughter, he watched him become a man. "Hello sir, I-uh, know Becca's not here. I need to, er, ask you something." Mike stammered, trying in vain not to blush. "Come on in Mike." Gideon replied, opening the door.

Mike stumbled into the house and sat down across from Gideon. "Well?" Gideon asked, though he already knew what question he was going to ask. "I..I came to ask you for Rebecca Jasmine's hand." Mike said softly. "I know." Gideon said smiling. He remembered the day he had asked for Olivia's hand. "You have my blessing." He added, getting up and patting Mike's shoulder.

Mike smiled and mumbled out something that sounded like a "Thank you". "Nice touch with the uniform." Gideon teased, leaving the room. Mike sat for a second, letting the moment sink in. His eyes focused on a wall of baby pictures.

She was playing Cinderella, ridin her first bike. Bouncin on the bed and lookin for a pillow fight. Runnin through the sprinklers with a big popscicle grin. Dancin with her dad, lookin up at him. In her eyes i'm prince charming, but to him I'm just some fella. Ridin in and stealin Cinderella.

Mike smiled; he couldn't believe his luck. He chuckled and let himself out.
