You haven't heard my tale, but here it is. It's a sad one, but not a long one. My life was very short-lived, my death is the best. I am Ser Jorah Seas, a once holy paladin of the Divine. My god was Pelor, and yes I was human. I was human...One day in my youth I was traveling for the King of the Inner Reach, Remus Chanley. It was a quest, a quest to find the Gem of Nether, an accursed object said to bring the dead back to life. I had with me my squire Nathan Verros, and my gray stallion Serenity. Our first landmark was the Stone of Evermore, and odd gray stone that had a slight pulsating glow about it. It was huge, about the size of 40 men, and not one man in the realm knew why it glowed as much.
We stopped at a nearby tavern and rested before heading out again, we then stopped at the Nefery Falls to view the sparkling lights of the majestic purple water. It is said that the fairies themselves enchanted the water, and I would not doubt the tale. Fairies are known for their enchantments, and one as beautiful as this seemed to be their handiwork. While making our way to the Hungry Tomb we found ourselves attacked by bandits. Their leader, TwinBreaker, tried to grab me by my shoulders and throw me off of my mount. I pierced his lung with my dirk before he even had a chance. Hah hah, that was a beautiful moment. It wasn't as good as the time I beheaded the Queen's mother because she was a shape shifter though, that was a beautiful moment.
We made short work of the bandits and only ended up with a few bumps and scratches. Finally, however, we ended up at the Hungry Tomb. You know the tales of skeleton guardians, hiding deep within the caverns of some massive dungeon. These skeletons kind of just stood outside of the tomb, holding their swords and trying to fit dry skin over their heads. It was horrifying, but the boy and I made quick work of them. Before we knew it, we had already made it to the Gem of Nether, and it was the easiest quest I've ever done.
There was, alas, a trap. My squire was killed by falling boulder, and as I grabbed the Gem of Nether I felt a peculiar sensation run through my body. My flesh started to decompose, and the gem stuck steadfast in my chest cavity. It replaced my ever dwindling heart, and lighting my chest with a purple glow. The skin around my face grew taunt, and my sword stuck to my body, completely encased in bone. I was now the Undead Paladin, I am now the Undead Paladin. I'm waiting for someone to release me from this curse, will it be you? Will you be the one to kill me? Many others have tried, yet still I stay. Alive, dead, both. Try me, I am waiting.
