Disclaimer: Own nothing.
Just a short, sweet and somewhat cracky fic.
Something was wrong. Dean, the experienced hunter that he was, could sense it in his sleep. He opened his eyes and lifted up his head to inspect the dark room. Sammy was sound asleep in the bed across from his. Thankfully they were able to get separate beds in this dingy motel room.
He didn't notice it at first but there was something at the end of the bed. Or rather, someone. Dean turned on the lamp that was perched on the end table next to his bed.
"Cas?"
The angel was staring at Dean with such intensity that Dean felt his eyes practically piercing through him. Sam didn't stir when the light was on, but seeing as how there was no threat, Dean decided not to wake him up.
"Hello Dean. Go back to sleep," the angel in trench coat said in what may have been an attempt at a comforting voice.
"Cas, baby. What do you need?" Dean asked.
"Nothing."
There was a long silence after that.
"Then why are you here?" Dean asked finally.
"To watch you sleep."
Oooookay. That was...interesting to say the least. Dean sat up to get a better look at his holy boyfriend.
"And...why do you want to watch me sleep?"
Cas never looked away and he barely blinked. The way he was staring was just so creepy.
"I heard it was romantic," the angel finally answered.
"Oh," Dean didn't know what to say to that.
"So please go back to sleep so that I may continue to show my endearment towards you," Cas told him.
"Cas, baby," Dean chuckled, "I'm glad to see you too. But why don't you just lie down with me?"
"Angels do not require sleep."
"But you just standing there and watching me is kind of...creepy."
"Not romantic?"
"No. Where the hell did you hear that it was anyway?"
"Remember when you told me about the 'internet?'" Cas held up his hands and flapped his fingers to emphasize the word, "I asked it how to have a romantic supernatural relationship."
Oh, he didn't. Dean threw his head back and laughed. Sam stirred in his sleep and mumbled something about a sexy Gabriel and peanut butter.
Cas pouted.
"Why are you laughing at me?" he demanded.
"You're so cute. You know our relationship is already romantic, right?"
Cas came over to the side of the bed in order to get closer to Dean. He was no longer angry. Instead, he was blushing.
"You really think I'm cute?"
Dean scooted to make room, patting a spot for Cas. The angel stared and got into the bed. He snuggled up to his human and the two commenced cuddling.
"Can you go back to sleep?" Cas asked Dean.
"I want to stay awake and talk," Dean smiled.
"Humans need their sleep, Dean."
"I need you more."
Another blush on the angels cheeks. Dean continued.
"Don't ask the internet anymore questions. It doesn't know shit."
"But there was a cat on there that was really adorable. He said that he had fun once and how much he hated it. Something about his negativity was so delightful," Cas insisted.
"No more internet. I don't need you abusing any memes."
"One does not simply abuse memes, Dean."
Just a quick fic. I'm not sorry.
I was writing this while writing the next chapter of 'Abducted.' Hope you like.
