She jumped back just in time to avoid the attack targeted at her chest, jabbing her sword forward in an act of retaliation. She smirked in grim satisfaction as her blade pierced the flesh of her enemy, their screams of agony echoing loudly in her ears.
"You're too late, priestess!" the dying demon chocked around a mouth full of blood. It cackled noisily before it was stopped short by the woman's sword removing itself from its resting place in monster's stomach. She turned away from the creature as it fell lifeless to the ground and settled her gaze upon the crouched figure of her long time, silver-haired companion.

"Inuyasha!" The dark haired woman rushed to her friend's side, taking his face in her hands as she took in his ragged appearance, looking over the strange purple stripes across his cheeks. "Inuyasha, say something!" The hairs on the back of her neck began to rise as a low growl sounded deep within the hanyou's throat. "Inuyasha?"
