A short fic, yes, but an enjoyable one I hope you will find it to be when you're through with it.
And if any of you out there have seen the anime for the Fishman Island Arc of One Piece, then you will know just how this fanfic came to be. If you haven't seen the anime, then I suggest you go and watch it. It's a hell of a lot better than the manga Fishman Island Arc and longer too.
Either way, let the fic begin!
"Arlong…" A young Hordy moaned quietly in his ear. Arlong did not respond.
"Arlong…" He moaned louder. The corner of Arlong's mouth twitched in annoyance this time, but he remained asleep in his bed.
With a visible pout on his face, the little child climbed his way up onto the bed and sat down on Arlong's chest.
"Arlong!" Hordy finally shouted right in his face. It took him a second, but Arlong opened his eyes and looked up slowly, giving the small boy on his chest one hell of a death glare. Hordy gulped at the ferocious look.
He folded his hands in his lap and tried to put on an innocent look that normally got him whatever he wanted. "Arlong, I want an apple." He said reasonably.
"No." Arlong yawned shortly before returning to sleep.
"But- but- Arlong… I need one… If I don't have one right now, I don't know what I'll do. I might starve to death, Arlong." Hordy protested dramatically.
"You aren't going to starve to death." Arlong replied uninterestedly.
"But Arlong! I'll- my heart will stop if I don't have an apple soon!" Hordy whined, getting desperate.
"You don't fucking need an apple at fucking four in the morning."
"Yeah I do!"
Arlong didn't bother replying this time around.
"ARLONG!" Hordy yelled, jumping up and down on his chest, knocking all the wind out of the older Fishman, "IF YOU DON'T GET ME AN APPLE RIGHT NOW, THEN THAT MEANS YOU DON'T LIKE ME ANYMORE!"
Arlong wanted to knock the kid off of him, but then he heard what he said. He mentally weighed his options before saying, "Fine, let's go get you an apple," He sighed and threw his head back onto his pillow.
"Really?" Hordy asked, a grin racing across his face with victory in sight.
"Fuck no." Arlong then sat the boy on the other side of the bed and turned his back to him.
"Fine. That just means you don't like me anymore then," Hordy pouted, jumping off the bed and starting to stomp his way out of the bedroom. Arlong didn't move.
Hordy looked back at him and sighed when his eyes moved back to the doorway; he was unhappy to resort to such measures. "Arlong, if you don't get me an apple right now, then I'll-" The boy was suddenly cut off as he felt a hand grab him by the back of shirt.
"Shut up, Hordy…" Arlong said, lifting the boy up and onto his shoulders. He couldn't stand it when the kid threatened to not like him anymore. It made him feel guilty inside even if he didn't do a single damn thing.
"I was right! Arlong does like me! You like me so much that you're gonna go get me an apple right now, right?!" Hordy chanted happily atop the older Fishman's shoulders.
"Hordy, that's enough outta you." Arlong said in a low tone, a vein in his neck pulsing unpleasantly. He may have been forced to feel guilt, but he was still annoyed by the kid's antics that snapped him awake a few minutes ago.
"Apple?"
"Fine… We'll go and get one…" Arlong sighed in defeat, hoping there'd be a fruit vender open at four in the morning.
The End!
