Lennon
By Hoshi Nagaiki
A/N: I'm writing this for my English class. We got to choose our own assessment for the Macbeth unit, so I chose to rewrite Macbeth using the Beatles. The project's due on Friday, so expect the chapters all this week. I would really love some feedback since this is for a grade. So, please advise me! :D
P.S.: This is unedited at the moment. Haven't even reread it once.
Prologue
Fair and Foul
Applause followed. After the flashing lights had dimmed, the crowd still vociferously roared their approval at the three strange musicians. No one knew their names or where they had come from, but everyone loved them and their odd music. Randomly, they would enter music competitions, play one of their weird songs, but never win. After their performance, the three "Blue Witches", as they were called because of their azure garb, would disappear, never to be spoken to or heard of until their next act.
For their brief moments backstage, the three nameless "Blue Witches" discussed their next meeting.
The first one, the lead guitarist, asked, "Shall we meet again to the thunderous applause of the audience, the blinding flares of the stage lights, or in both?"
"We will meet when the winners and losers emerge," replied the second one, the bassist.
"Where shall this be?"
"In the alley."
"There we shall meet Lennon," the third witch cackled. She raised the hand that clutched her drumsticks. With a swoop, she brought it down, and smog reminiscent of bile cloaked the Blue Witches. The first and second blue witches snatched their guitars, Graymalkin and Paddock, as the three began to chant the lyrics from one of their most popular songs:
"Fair is foul, and foul is fair: hover through the fog and filthy air."
Just like that, they had vanished.
A/N: So, how was it? Was it too wordy? Did it make sense? Was it too much like Macbeth? Was it too little like Macbeth? Anything? Please review! This is for a huge grade, and I'm seriously freaking out!
