A/N: It's a short one! Sorry, guys, but this is just the first chapter.

Prologue
"You have to support her head."
"How?" he asked. "I don't know how."
"That's all right," the nurse said. "Use your arm – good, just like that."
"I don't think I can do this."
"You already are," she said.
The nurse stepped back, her arms still halfway outstretched, and smiled at him. "Congratulations," she said softly. "You're holding your daughter."
As Tony looked down at the little girl in his arms, something stirred within him. He couldn't identify it, but it wasn't unpleasant; in fact, it was warm and – wow – it kind of made it hard to breathe.
His daughter, sensing him staring at her, looked up and held his gaze with her large, almond-shaped eyes. "Whoa," Tony said, nearly choking on his own saliva. "You have your granddad's eyes, did you know that?" Her little nose crinkled. "And look at that nose," he said, lightly running the pad of his finger over a barely-noticeable bump. "That's definitely your grandmom's nose."
He couldn't help but also notice that her ears were too large for her head. Again, it was something that she had inherited from him, and her grandfather, but combined with the rest of her features, it made her look like a monkey.
"Hey, monkey," Tony said. "I'm your daddy."
He hoisted her up a little, placing her face against his collarbone and then pressing his cheek to the top of her head. For a moment, he just breathed in the smell of her; it was unknown to him, but it was soothing. "I love you," he whispered. "Don't ever forget that."

AN: I had a hard time writing this. Hopefully the rest of the story comes more smoothly. Let me know what you think!
