THREE
We all went to bed that night happy and relaxed. As I lay in my warm bed I thought of the things we could do in the morning.
Unfortunately, my perfect morning didn't turn out so perfect. I was the last one up and as I went into the kitchen it was eerily quiet. I rounded the corner and the first thing I saw was Nudge, held up against the wall by rope and a huge, hairy claw around her throat. A further look found the flock, all restricted and paws around their throats. I heard a sound behind me and I swung around just in time to see Ari, a long, sharp knife in his raised paw. " Morning princess" he smirked. " What the hell are you doing with my family, you dog?" I snarled. " Giving them a little trim" He replied. The he lunged at me with the knife. Obviously, I wasn't gonna let him catch me by surprise. I ducked as he came at me. Then, I grabbed him by the ankle and he fell down with a thump!. Quick as lightning, I shot out a snap kick to his head, knocking him out. I ran to Fang, clapped my hands over the ears of his capturer and then me and him helped the rest of the flock and we threw all the Erasers out the window, down, down, down into the canyon once again.
Suddenly, a black hood was thrown over my head and I tried not to breathe the sickly sweets smell. But I couldn't last long. I felt myself slipping and I couldn't help my eyes closing…
I woke up to the sharp antiseptic smell that I knew so well. Crap! The school. The mesh of the large sized dog crate I was in felt as cold as ice. A quick look round showed no signs of the flock. My brain was hazy and I wished I had Fang and the rest here. No! Anywhere but here. " Sir, we got her back as you requested. She is ready for the experiment anytime." a voice said. There were chills running down my spine. " Get her" said another. As footsteps became louder and louder, I readied myself. As the door slowly opened, I flung myself at the assistant and spread my wings. I didn't get far though. I couldn't feel them and they wouldn't move. Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain in my head. Another headache. Once again I fell to the ground but there were no arms to catch me.
I was out by the time the crate closed…
