Blaine Anderson sat on the edge of his bed, his hands resting on his lap, were scrunched up in fists, how could they? They had no idea of his situation.
Cooper, his much older and according to everyone, cooler brother had turned up at Mckinly high. Blaine had never been so angry, everything that had happened before Cooper had finally reached eighteen and moved out had come flooding back as Rachel giggled and flounced and Finn didn't seem to care, it seemed to him as though he had got a version of the cool Blaine who would play on the X-Box and watch football games with him, without the blemish of being his Stepbrother's boyfriend.
Blaine had smiled falsely and stood up and given his brother a "man hug" before sitting back down and sitting forcing himself to sit through an hour of his brother's smug voice. As he had sat pretending to listen to a step by step guide of how to make your living making crappy commercials. His early childhood had come flooding back. "Blaine, why are you playing with that it's for girls!" "Blaine, why do you want to watch Beauty and the Beast it's a Princess Movie, I want to watch Terminator, go play with the toy soldiers Dad got you" and more recently when he had come to visit with another of his sleazy girlfriends: "Blaine, your not serious are you? Dad thinks it's just a phase...it better be, I don't think me having a fag for a brother would go down well with my agent". Fag, ugly word, always makes people's face screw up when they say it, as though it means something dirty. Even when Blaine had got beaten up at the Sadie Hawkins Dance there had been no sympathy from any of them, he had received a concussion, a broken arm and heavy bruising and with the exception of their decision to send him to Dalton all he had been told was a snide comment from Cooper of "It's your own fault though isn't it, did you really need to make a statement like that?" He had spent a week in hospital recovering, ensuring that he'd recovered the concussion, councilling, giving names to the police, sorting out his transfer to Dalton and none of them, not one had said how wrong it was that he'd been beaten up for not having the same hormonal urges as most of the boys in his year. He had been fourteen, when Kurt was getting lockerslammed and slushied (with non-lethal slushies) Blaine had been getting the crap kicked out of him by the football team, when your a 5,2" fourteen year old in comparision to the 6" quarterback you don't really stand a chance of avoiding a beating.
So when Kurt had got pissed at him for not being happy so see his brother he had stalked off. He loved Kurt, really he did...but he didn't seem to understand how lucky he was having Burt and Finn who after a shaky start been fine. He had a Dad who denied Blaine's sexuality, His Mom who had always prefered Cooper and didn't really give a damn, and Cooper.
He acted straighter around his Dad, even at Dalton it had been an act, the charismatic, care-free Blaine Anderson even Kurt had never seen all of him, no one had it wasn't safe to be fully anything- too straight: introduction to girls he didn't care about. Too Gay: "Blaine, back off" "Other Gay" "Blaine stop acting so Faggy" or the worst: "Your Sex on a stick" that had effected him more, at least when Kurt had had the admittedly creepy Dave, he had at least been intrested in Kurt on a physical level rather than sexual. He had been scared when Sebastian had said that, They all seemed to forget that despite of how much he could do: lead soloist of the warblers, lead in the musical, he was still Sixteen years old, living in a homophobic household with not a clue how to show who he really was past the facades. Just Blaine.
