Ganymede's Day Out
By Electric Fire
Series: Zodiac PI
"I'm as bored as heck, sitting in this star ring all day long! I want freedom!" Young Ganymede, the spirit of Aquarius sighed, as he reclined in his small rocking chair. Unfortunately, he knew that he would never exit the ring until Spica called upon him, so he was forced to wait.
"January 22, 1985," Her voice called upon him, so he left the ring, where he saw Spica looking at him.
"How may I help you Spica?" He asked, and he could see that she was worried.
"Oh Ganymede! It is my Aunt's birthday and she is coming over for a visit tomorrow, but I don't have a gift! Please help me." Now, as Spica worried, Ganymede's tiny mind went to work. (And it was quite tiny, seeing that he was a tiny being and all...)
"Of course I will help you, Spica. But I will do more than give you a clue this time! I shall go buy the gift myself!" Spica's face lit up at the idea, and soon Ganymede found himself outside their home, with a small coin bag (that was huge compared to him) that contained 500 yen.
"Well off I go!" The little spirit headed downtown to check out the stores. The first store he came upon was the toy store. Spica's aunt wasn't too old, he thought, so it made sense to try the toyshop.
Unfortunately, Ganymede had forgotten one tiny little thing - he was tiny! No matter how hard he tried, he could not open the huge door! So, sadly, he resolved to wait for someone to open the door for him. Eventually, someone entered the store, and Ganymede quickly hurried inside while the door was open.
Walking around the store, Ganymede realized just how tiny he really was. Why, he was so small that some of the doll clothes could fit him!
"I get awfully bored sitting in the ring all the time, so I don't think Spica will mind if I buy myself something!" And with that, he began to try on the doll clothes.
First he went for a 'formal' look, then 'casual', then he tried on a space suit, a swim suit, a construction worker outfit, a superman costume, and...
Time had escaped him, and it was time for the store to close up. But poor little Ganymede had forgotten to bring a watch, and he only realized the time just as the shopkeeper locked the door!
He was locked in for the night!
