Disclaimer: I do not own Pokemon. Or the Bible- though by now the term David and Goliath is so commonplace I don't feel this is a crossover with the Bible.

Goliath was a shedninja. He only had one HP, any little thing could knock him out if it wasn't for his wonder guard ability. He was high level- he evolved at level 28 and had just gotten stronger since.

His trainer had positioned himself just outside of the starting route. He then challenged all the beginning trainers that tried to pass to a battle. They couldn't go around him- the woods were too dangerous. Refusing to battle him still cost them all their money- it was viewed as a forfeit by law and the Pokedex registered it as such. Trying to battle the ghost type with normal type moves was pointless. Even if they had a move that could hit him wonder guard would protect Goliath unless it was super effective.

So for a while trainers stagnated in the little town. The league couldn't do anything, because what he was doing wasn't illegal. Even if they managed to change the law so it was it would still take months to do so, and they couldn't exactly punish him for breaking the law when there was no law.

So the champion got crafty. He went and caught a tiny, scruffy, growlithe and got him a collar with a quick claw where the tag would go. He trained David up to level five, the level most starter Pokemon are at. He then gave the pokemon to the professor and told him that the lab was going to be short one starter, and to give the growlithe, who he had not named, to the trainer if they showed determination.

The professor did so. The new trainer named the growlithe David and left. He was challenged to a battle and accepted. The trainer was young and foolish, but he knew David's two attacks. Roar and Bite.

He gave a single command "David use bite!"

The quick claw activated as David leapt forward and before Goliath could even react he used Bite.

It was super effective.

Goliath fainted.

A/N: Just a little one shot knock off of David and Goliath.
