FRAGMENTS OF A HOLOGRAPHIC ROSE
SONNET:The Count/ ORIGINAL STORY: WILLIAM GIBSON
Pieces of my shattered life rolling off the steel
Fragments of a Holographic Rose falling evermore,
Living life through decks and tapes, all the eternal meal
Picking up stolen emotion from out beneath the door.
Waking up at three A.M., coffee packet in my hands
Looking beyond all space, lights shining through the dome
The loss of all my magic, conjuring all upon demand
Living life in this mystifying place many wish to call home.
Arriving home to steel containers stacked upon the floor
The beauty of a silent personage, tears consoling her faceAcid rain smoldering through the passion that was nevermore
At final glimpse through the mist, a finger in its place.
As long lives life, love may not subsist,
For Fragments of a Holographic Rose falling in the mist.
