Chapter One
"Emily, come along. Its time for German Lessons." Mrs. Sarah Lee, My Home schooling teacher called over to me from across the living room.
"Can we sit out in the garden?" I asked her, lying down across the couch watching MTV.
"I suppose so." She answered quietly. I stood up and followed her out of the room, down the stairs, outside the front door, through the backyard and into the garden.
She sat in the brown wooden bench and I lied down in the green grass. She had three big books with her and as I starred at her, I moaned.
"Today, I will be reading 10 chapters, which will be 200 pages of this German Fairy Tale." She smiled at me.
I smiled back at her and then she began reading. I rolled onto my back and looked up to the blue, cloudless sky. 5 minutes into the Fairy Tale, I drifted off to sleep.
It was night. I was still lying in the grass. Mrs. Sarah Lee had left and I had been here all alone.
The sky was nothing but pure black and filled with millions of white stars. I closed my eyes for a minute, and the corners of my mouth curling into a grin.
I sat up looking around me. It was silent until I heard leaves crunching and twigs breaking. My eyes widened and my heart began beating quickly.
A young girl to look the age of 14, the same age as I was crawled out of the bushes the lead into the forest. Twigs caught in her hair. Dirt covering her face. She was wearing a baby blue tutu and black ballet flats.
"Who are you?" She asked me, confused. Frozen in place.
"Emily, Who are you?" I answered her, standing up.
"Princess Diana." She smiled at me, standing up straight with amazing posture like a model.
"Princess?" I asked confused. "What are you talking about? Princess of what?" I asked her, firmly.
"Reddin World of course. And where do you belong to?" She asked me.
I looked at her as if she were crazy. "Reddin World? Where's that?" I asked her.
"I will not answer your question until you answer mine." She looked over to me.
"Um, Princess Emily of Idyllwild." I lied to her, to yank the answer to my question out of her.
"Princess?" She smiled. "So that is why you are dressed up for the ball as well?" She asked me.
"Dressed up? No I'm only in Jeans and a T-shirt." I looked at her confused.
"Jeans? T-Shirt? No, Emily, you are in a dress, as I am as well!" She smiled at me, walking towards me.
"I looked down and she was correct. I was wearing a baby pink tutu with black ballet slippers.
"Nothing." I said to her. "So, where is this Ball?" I asked her, resting my hands on my hips and she stood up straight with her hands behind her back.
"It is the night of love." She smiled at me.
I starred at her.
"All the Princesses and Princes from all around Reddin World and Wonder Land come together and dance the night away and fall in love." She smiled to me, swaying in her space.
"Nice, I'm up for Whoa! When did this get on me?" I asked myself, amazed.
"Excuse me?" Diana asked me, trying to understand what I was saying.
"Nothing. So a party. So where's the car?" I asked her, looking over her shoulder.
"Car? No, we have to walk by foot. But don't worry; it is only 5 miles away. We will be able to make it in no time." She giggled, turning around, crawling back into the bushes.
"Wait! Diana!" I called her name, she didn't stop all she did was tell me to come on.
I crawled behind her in the bushes as it slowly became a dirt tunnel.
"So, do you have a date for this dance?" I asked her.
"No. No one does. We just meet them there and then, love fills the air and wedding bells are heard." I could tell from the tone in her voice that she was smiling.
"Ah, I see. Well, do you think Ill see someone there I may like?" I asked her, following her.
