Ok, so this is angsty and random and written at a very late hour last night.
Thank you to Dana (DNAisUnique) for convincing me to post this and ALWAYS being there to go over stuff with me when I need her. :)
Lie to me is not mine.
It was unexpected. As everything usually is when you close your eyes to the truth. He was just there and it was right.
You felt truly happy.
Elated.
This was what you had been hoping for, what you'd been imagining in your mind for so long. Going over countless scenarios in your head that could possibly happen between the two of you.
It wasn't unexpected when it ended.
Emily watched you as you packed your things from the drawers in his bedroom. Her eyes quietly pleading with you to stay.
To try.
You wanted to, you wanted to stay. For her, for him. But you had to get out. Had to run and figure out how to handle the fact that you're losing someone else.
Your bags are packed. You're sitting at the end of your… His bed. You can hear her crying and you wish you didn't have to put her through it.
A door opens and your body reacts with a rush of adrenaline. You wish you hadn't waited for him. Right now, you wish you had just left. Gone, gone and driven away. Left it all behind. The pain and everything that you know is going to follow.
He stumbles into the room. His eyes are wild and you note that he's relatively sober. He looks at the bags and then back to your face.
You look away.
Words are unnecessary, as they have always been. Time seems to freeze and he doesn't move. His eyes are shining.
He could try and stop you. He could beg. Plead.
Tell you again and again how he'll get everything under control. Tell you how things will go back to the way they used to be. How he loves you and Emily loves you. How if you leave he doesn't know if he'll be able to keep going.
You know it already.
But that's not your main concern at the moment.
You pick up the bags and walk past him. His arm brushes yours slightly and you almost don't make it out the door.
The bags go in first and then you do. You try not to think about what and who you're leaving behind.
The man that you love. Loved? You're not sure anymore. You drive around the corner and pull over.
It's then you realise you're crying.
Review if you wish. :)
