Cat: Bramblestar

Title: Bramblestar's Lives

Words: 4,991 Words

Brambleclaw exited his camp and the fern tunnel. His eyes were clouded with grief as his paws dragged along the leafy forest-floor. All he wanted to do was curl up beside his dead mentor, Firestar, and his leader's body and stay there. And he'd hope and wish that his green eyes would flicker open. He was the father I never had he thought to himself with a sad smile as he imagined Firestar up in StarClan with Cinderpelt and all the cats he'd lost.

As Jayfeather led him to get his nine lives, the mottled grey tabby didn't seem to notice Brambleclaw's silence or reluctance. He was keeping a quick pace and Brambleclaw hurried along to keep up with him. He was proud of the medicine cat, as he believed Jayfeather to be his son. He didn't care if they weren't, he raised Jayfeather, and that was how it would always go. Even if Jayfeather didn't think so, he was proud of his son.

"Shouldn't you be with the injured cats?" he asked, and then he paused when Jayfeather didn't reply. "I mean, I could've gone alone or something," he stammered quickly, his whiskers quivering in embarrassment. Jayfeather turned around, his cloudy sightless eyes boring into his. And he let out a snort of irritation.

"Seriously Bramblestar, you think I'm going to miss out on my first leader's ceremony? And no, ThunderClan has more medicine cats than warriors, remember?" Jayfeather reminded him, not halting his pace. "We have Leafpool, Briarlight, Brightheart..." his voice trailed on and the silence washed back over them again.

"What about Cinderheart?" Brambleclaw was genuinely curious. She had recently been discovered to be a reincarnation of ThunderClan's former medicine cat, Cinderpelt. He wanted to know what had happened there, and why Jayfeather hadn't listed her off as one of ThunderClan's medicine cats. He knew something occurred, but he wasn't sure what.

"Seriously Brambleclaw, you shouldn't stick your nose in what doesn't involve you," Brambleclaw flinched and Jayfeather looked at him, apologetic, as if he'd realized how much it'd hurt him. "Sorry, I'm still struggling to understand that situation. I'll let you know later when we get back, but for now, let's just focus on you getting to the Moonpool and getting home safely,"

Brambleclaw nodded solemnly and he spotted the WindClan border just ahead. He worried about Jayfeather leaping over the river and falling in, but the grey medicine cat proved him wrong once more as he leapt over in a single bound and perfectly onto the other side. He turned and looked right at Bramblestar. Come on he seemed to be saying. Bramblestar leapt over and landed squarely on a pile of soft, dry grass.

Before they could even take another step, a yowl sounded at the top of the moor. He spotted five WindClan warriors speeding towards them, aggressive quite visible. Brambleclaw was confused. They'd just fought off the enemy together, and Jayfeather and Brambleclaw were not enemies. The cats slowed down and a light brown tabby she-cat, who Brambleclaw recognized as Sedgewhisker, halted and raised her tail in alarm.

"It's just ThunderClan cats," Sedgewhisker reassured them and Brambleclaw realized it now. Of course! They probable thought we were runaway Darkforest cats. I'd do the same thing if I was in their position. A dark grey she-cat pelted Sedgewhisker and he could see the similarities between them and guessed they were kin. The grey she-cat whispered something in her ear and the brown she-cat nodded.

"Sedgewhisker, it's nice to see you," Brambleclaw dipped his head and the brown tabby she-cat looked delighted that she'd been remembered by the deputy. He shook his head hurriedly. No, I'm the leader now. Not the deputy, Squirrelflight's the deputy.

"Did you fight in the battle?" a night-black she-cat asked. She looked small enough to be an apprentice. She looked overexcitable and she bounced up and down like a startled kit. Brambleclaw tried to keep his whiskers from twitching.

"Yes I did. But since Firestar passed away-" he took a deep breath. It wasn't a surprise to most of the WindClan cats except a grey tom who looked pretty annoyed to have been left in the dark on the topic that a leader had died. "-Well I guess I'm going to get my nine lives," he forced a friendly expression and the WindClan cats dipped their heads politely, even the two jet black apprentices.

"We wish you well in leading your Clan," Sedgewhisker politely meowed. "I'll let Onestar know the news. He was close to Firestar. He won't take it well," Sedgewhisker looked troubled, but then her weary expression returned.

"We need to get going, we're wasting moonlight," Jayfeather snapped and the black she-cat jolted, looking bewildered. She looked ready to say something but Brambleclaw pushed her out of the way so he could get through. He wasn't sure how Jayfeather knew they were wasting moonlight if he couldn't see the stars or the moon.

"Fine, I'm coming. Tell Onestar I wish him the best," Brambleclaw called over his shoulder and he hurried after a sprinting Jayfeather. The blind tabby sometimes acted like he could see with small things. And sometimes he believed that ThunderClan was blinder than Jayfeather. He planned to change that.

I'm going to get my nine lives!

"Are we almost there?" Brambleclaw asked, trying to break the silence between them. Jayfeather looked at him, although he didn't stop walking. He beckoned his tail forward to just above the ridge and towards the hollow.

"It's just up here," Brambleclaw made it up the slope and a strong wind pushed past him, nearly knocking him back off but he forced his paws into the dirt so he wouldn't be blown away. Jayfeather didn't seem bothered by this though. He shivered.

"Don't worry!" Jayfeather called. "The wind is blocked out by the hollow," Brambleclaw sighed in relief and then he wondered if Jayfeather had read his mind. He wasn't sure how he hadn't picked up that trait in Jayfeather when he was younger. He'd been doing it a long time.

Once he reached the hollow, the wind disappeared, although he could hear it outside. He felt warmer, yet a cold presence surrounded him, making him shiver.

"It's beautiful isn't it?" Jayfeather murmured and Brambleclaw noticed the large starlight-lit pool just in front of them. He felt himself gasp and he stared at the pool. It was beautiful. He just wanted to stay here forever in the presence of StarClan and the beauty of the starlit pool.

"It is beautiful," he answered, prodding his paw into the pond and it sent ripples along the lake, disrupting the stars that lay on the surface. He quickly murmured an apology to StarClan. He hoped he hadn't disturbed them by doing that. Jayfeather was amused. It was like he was Jayfeather's son, and he was watching Brambleclaw try out new things like a kit. "What do I do?"

"It's about time you finally realized we're here to share dreams, not knock pebbles like a kit," Jayfeather was amused. The medicine cat sighed and he twitched his tail-tip. "Just take a lap of the water, and I know it's cold but it doesn't matter,"

Brambleclaw looked at the pool. Once he took this drink, his life would never be the same. His name would go down in history. He'd live on forever.

He bent down and took a mouthful.

His eyes flickered open and he saw so many familiar cats that he'd seen die. He was standing on fresh grass and he instantly recognized where he was. He was in the peaceful StarClan. And he recognized so many cats.

Cinderpelt, Speckletail, Sorreltail, Brindleface, Goldenflower...

Their faces were lit with excitement and encouragement, giving him warm smiles and eager stares. Brambleclaw couldn't wait to be reunited with his kin, even if it was for only a short period of time.

Bluestar, Firestar, Flametail, Ferncloud, Hollyleaf...

He missed them so much that he almost ran to them, but his paws felt like they were rooted to the ground like trees so he stayed in his place, concerned. And the voice came.

It sounded like every cat Brambleclaw had ever known. But the mew was a single meow.

"Brambleclaw, are you ready to receive your nine lives?" Brambleclaw felt flustered and he gave his ruffled chest a quick lick.

"Yes!" he declared and he looked at his paws. "I mean, I am,"

As soon as he spoke those words, two cats headed towards him, their pelts brushing and their eyes a light. He recognized Hollyleaf and Ashfur. He wasn't pleased to see Ashfur, the cat that wanted his mate dead, and his ki- well Leafpool's kits.

"Ashfur," he meowed in an icy polite tone. Hollyleaf was the cat he wanted to see and he reached out to touch noses with her but she didn't accept the gesture, just stared at him with round green eyes.

"With this life, we give you justice," Hollyleaf faced Ashfur, and turned back to him. "Use it to judge cats in your Clan fairly," Hollyleaf meowed and she pressed her muzzle to his cheek and he felt warmed, but then he felt the pain that came with it.

He felt sharp pains like stones hit him and he held back an ear splitting yowl. Once the pain subsided, he managed to see another cat walking towards him but he froze. Do I really have eight whole lives to go?

A memory forced itself into his mind and he was forced to watch it.

"I was there, too, that day, by the stream," Brambleclaw saw himself standing just below the Highledge, a determined expression on his face. He'd do anything to protect the cat he loved, and that was his daughter Hollyleaf. The long-furred black she-cat was looking at him, shock and disbelief in her green eyes. "You didn't see me, but I saw you, and Ashfur," Brambleclaw knew he had lied to his clanmates, but he'd done the right thing to protect the ones he loved. He continued to watch the memory, his heart pounding in his chest.

"When Ashfur saw Hollyleaf alone by the stream, he sprang at her. He was determined to hurt one of the three cats Squirrelflight loved most

"I was there, too, that day, by the stream," Brambleclaw saw himself standing below the Highledge and he saw Hollyleaf looking at him, shock and disbelief in her green eyes. "You didn't see me, but I saw you, and Ashfur," Brambleclaw knew he did the right thing back there but he continued to watch the memory.

"When Ashfur saw Hollyleaf alone by the stream, he sprang at her. He was determined to hurt one of the three cats Squirrelflight loved most, to punish her for not loving him. Hollyleaf fought bravely, but before I could help her, Ashfur slipped on the edge of the stream and fell in." Hollyleaf's voice whispered in his ear.

"You were always a father to me..."

The memory faded and he found himself back in the clearing, staring at his kin and family who watched him with knowing gazes.

Ashfur and Hollyleaf had vanished and he saw the two cats sharing words near his friends and family. I did the right thing speaking out like that didn't I? He shook his head. Of course I did! He pushed the thought away.

He spotted a small black kit that looked around three moons. The young kit had eager, bright green eyes and he was racing towards him.

"I've wanted to meet you for ages!" he squeaked, bushing out his black fur. He seemed so eager and Brambleclaw felt bad because he had no idea who this little kit was.

"Oh really, what's your name?" he asked politely, trying to stop his whiskers from twitching. The black kit looked cheerful.

"My name is Tadpole!" seeing Brambleclaw's confused expression, the kit hastily added. "I'm Mothwing's brother," he offered helpfully and Brambleclaw gasped.

He had another long lost sibling? He'd never known about this eager kitten, so he touched his nose to the kit's forehead and he bounced around.

"I have a life to give you know!" Tadpole squeaked, ducking away from his lick. He was just like any other kit, dodging their parents. Brambleclaw purred and nodded, letting him speak.

"With this life, I give you-" his eyes flashed with panic as if he'd forgotten which life he was to give but then he shook his head. "-I give you courage. Use it to defend your Clan, and don't be afraid to take risks,"

Brambleclaw nodded as the pain grew inside of him. It was like the fire they recently had, it burnt his pelt and he let out a squeak of pain.

Another memory pushed itself into him.

"Climb! Climb! You can do!" Brambleclaw recognized Tadpole right away, with two younger kits that he guessed were Hawkfrost and Mothwing. He quickly confirmed the thought, based on their appearances.

"Hawk, get up onto the sill, and Moth, keep going! You can make it, I know you can," the black kit managed to say from where he was hanging on just below Moth.

"Tadpole, I-I can't! It's just too hard!" Moth squealed and Brambleclaw noticed dark water swirling around below them and he silently screamed for her to get a move on so they could escape through the window.

"I'll help you, just hang on! Hang on, I'll be right there!" Tadpole replied confidently, but Brambleclaw could see the plain terror in his green eyes.

"That's it Moth, come up here beside me!" Hawk hissed, pulling his sister's scruff and they sat on the sill. Tadpole had vanished into the dark swirling water and Brambleclaw wondered if he could leap in and save the kit, but a strange she-cat who he recognized as Sasha, leapt through the sill and peered down. Tadpole's head reappeared and he coughed and his body went under again.

The kit reappeared and Sasha shrieked for him to reach her paw but he knew the kit couldn't do it. And the kit's body went under once more. Except this time, he didn't resurface.

On the surface, out on the grass, Hawk was wailing and shrieking. "NO!" and he tried to charge back into the flooded twoleg nest to rescue his dead brother, but Sasha grabbed his scruff, her eyes watery and grief in her eyes. Moth let out a wail of grief and the scene faded, but not before Brambleclaw felt sympathy for his murderous brother. He mustve blamed himself for his brother's death.

The memory started to fade and his eyes were watery at the scene.

Tadpole had vanished and was sitting beside Hollyleaf, his jet-black fur matching with hers. He had a sad glint in his eyes and Brambleclaw felt horrible for the kit whose life had been cut short. He would've been a good warrior if he'd made it to RiverClan.

He spotted two more kits running towards him and he recognised them at once. Larchkit and Hollykit! The two kits had died from the cold before the Great Journey had started. Their parents, Ferncloud and Dustpelt were grief stricken.

"Brambleclaw!" they squeaked together and Brambleclaw felt a purr rumble in his chest. "With this life we give you hope. It's always there Brambleclaw, even on the darkest and stormiest night,"

He could see the young kits had tried really hard to memorize the sentence they had to speak and he gave a purr of amusement. Hollykit touched her nose his left cheek while Larchkit touched her nose to his right cheek.

The pain was like the coldest ice and the hottest flame and he struggled to control himself. He struggled to control himself from screaming out.

A memory swept him away and took the pain away.

"Come with us Birchkit! You never want to do anything fun!" Hollykit jeered playfully, cuffing her brother over the ears, her green eyes shining with annoyance. She would've been an exact Squirrelflight is she lived Brambleclaw thought to himself.

"I don't like breaking the warrior code," the small brown tabby kit retorted. And then he sighed. "Go on, I won't tell anybody. I'll just say you left me behind," he nuzzled his littermate's ear tips, affection sparking in his amber gaze.

"Why are you so worried?" Larchkit remarked. "We're not going to fight foxes," she added cheekily and Brambleclaw smirked. So that was how it all worked out when they were kits. Brambleclaw always felt sorry for Birchkit, now Birchfall because his littermates went off and did things without him. But he guessed he wouldn't have to anymore since it was all just a prank.

"You might fight foxes," Birchkit smirked. "You're sneaking out of camp in the middle of the night, there might be hungry foxes around," he snapped his jaws menacingly and Hollykit laughed and cuffed him.

"You'd make a good fox Birchkit," the tabby looked amused and he looked back to the nursery. "Anyway, I'll catch you in the morning Birchkit!" Hollykit squealed and waved her tail and Birchkit watched them go, knowing if anything happened to them, it'd be his head on the line.

He was touched by the memory and he remembered how he and Tawnypelt used to do such things like sneaking out of camp. Sadness overwhelmed him and he was left with the thought. I wish she was in ThunderClan with me.

Two young apprentices walked slowly up to him and he recognized both of them at an instant. One was his half-brother, Swiftpaw. The second was another son of Dustpelt and Ferncloud who had died before the Great Journey, Shrewpaw.

He lifted his tail in greeting and the two young cats cast him amused glances before starting to speak together.

"Brambleclaw, with this life, we give you the skill of mentoring. Use it to mentor the young cats in your Clan!" the two young cats touched their noses to his cheek like Hollykit and Larchkit did and he silently screamed "I can't do this anymore!" He still had five lives to go.

"I bet you two would've made amazing warriors," he managed to say and Shrewpaw nodded, thankful. Swiftpaw didn't say anything and his eyes were blank, except for a flicker of pride in his green eyes.

And like all the other lives he'd received, he was granted with a memory.

Brambleclaw recognized his old home in an instant and his ears pricked, feeling happy. This was the place he was born. The place he trained as an apprentice. This was his first home.

"Yes!" he was jolted awake from his memories and he turned to find Shrewpaw creeping up on a large pheasant. Oh yes! He said he was chasing a pheasant! That would've fed the whole Clan!

Shrewpaw crept forward, his eyes keen on his catch. But he stepped on a twig and the pheasant took off, Shrewpaw hard on its heels.

He watched the tom follow his prey towards the Thunderpath and Brambleclaw watched as the pheasant got across the Thunderpath safely, followed by Shrewpaw, who was just a little too late. The red monster hit him and Brambleclaw let out a cry of sadness as he watched a good ThunderClan cat pass.

"No! Shrewpaw!" he wailed, racing towards the apprentice but the memory had already faded and he was back in the clearing where he was before.

The two young cats were gone now and Brambleclaw sighed. They both deserved to be warriors and they both had a terrible death that they didn't deserve. The next cat he saw amazed him. He didn't expect to see her again.

It was Feathertail, a cat he had travelled with to the Sundrown-Place. She'd died in the mountains, fulfilling a Tribe prophecy. He missed her lots, and he wished she was still here. She was so kind and friendly.

"Hello Brambleclaw, it's been a while hasn't it?" she greeted, dipping her head. Her silver tabby fur shimmered with starlight and her blue eyes reflected the stars above. She was beautiful, it was no surprise Crowfeather had fallen in love with her.

"Yes it has. Crowfeather misses you," Feathertail brightened but she looked away with annoyance flickering in her blue gaze.

"With this life, I give you love. Use it for your kin, your friends, and your clanmates. And especially Squirrelflight," Feathertail gave Brambleclaw a longing look, like she wanted to say something else, but she padded away and Brambleclaw could feel sadness pulsing off her.

She misses Crowfeather he realized with pang. I can't imagine how she felt when Crowfeather fell in love with Leafpool. He dismissed the thought.

The life she gave felt warm and loving and he accepted it without a doubt. If the rest of the lives were like that, he would make it. Four lives left.

"Crowpaw, I think I love you," Feathertail was sitting next to Crowfeather. He was still an arrogant apprentice. And they were in love, it was obvious. The starlight shone brightly, as if StarClan approved, or even some other ancestors.

"I love you too Feathertail," he whispered. It was just loud enough for Brambleclaw to hear. Crowpaw bristled his fur, and at first, Brambleclaw figured it was the cold. He learnt soon enough it was embarrassment.

"Do you think we'll have kits one day?"

"Of course, I mean, I know this is forbidden, but when I'm with you..." Feathertail trailed on, facing the stars. "Not even StarClan can keep us apart."

But the thing was. StarClan killed Feathertail for a reason, so StarClan did keep them apart. And from Feathertail's sadness, she seemed to know that.

The memory faded.

He sighed as she walked away and he prayed that she was happy and she had friends here. He felt sorry for Feathertail. But before he could say anything else, three more cats replaced her.

It was Honeyfern, a she-cat who had been bitten by a snake a season ago, Sorreltail, one of ThunderClan's casualties in the Darkforest battle, and Ferncloud, another casualty in the battle.

"Hello Brambleclaw!" Honeyfern beamed, looking delighted to see him again. Ferncloud nuzzled him and her whiskers tickled his muzzle.

"Congratulations!"

"I knew you'd make it here one day!" Sorreltail purred, she looked overjoyed and Brambleclaw gazed at her longingly and sadly. The tortoiseshell she-cat was one of his friends and losing her had been hard. She was a great cat. She looked at him seriously. "Look after Lilykit and Seedkit would you?"

He nodded, promising he would and then the three she-cats looked at each other before going on with their ceremony.

"With this life we give you protection. Use it to protect the Clan as if they were all your kits," he expected Ferncloud to give a gentle life like Feathertail but the sharp pain that came with it was by far the most painful. His vision blurred and his paws threatened to collapse beneath him.

"Berrynose, I have the best news!" Honeyfern rested her head on her mate's shoulder and Brambleclaw watched with shock as she delivered her news. "I'm expecting our kits!" she squealed and Berrynose let out a startled yowl, looking ready to blurt it out to the whole camp and every Clan that he was going to be a father.

Suddenly, without warning, Berrynose was flung backwards as Honeyfern threw herself forward and shoved Briarkit and then Brambleclaw saw the snake flare up and get ready to bite and he closed his eyes.

Luckily StarClan was kind enough to him to spare him the pain of watching it a second time.

The next life was two very familiar cats. The first was a fluffy grey she-cat who was walking delicately on her paws and the next was a flame-coloured, skinny ginger tom with round green eyes.

"Flametail, Cinderpelt," he greeted with a friendly dip of his head. Cinderpelt was an amazing cat who had been ThunderClan's medicine cat before Leafpool. And Flametail was his sister's kit.

"It's nice to see you again Brambleclaw!" Cinderpelt purred and she rubbed her muzzle along his cheek and he purred. Flametail dipped his head. He hadn't known him very well but the flame coloured tom was proud of him.

"With this life, we give you compassion. Use it for sicker or weaker cats than yourself. See if you can imagine life in their paws," Flametail meowed wisely and Cinderpelt nodded to him. I'm so proud of him...

"I'm so proud of you..." he whispered but Flametail picked it up and pressed his nose to Brambleclaw's muzzle. The pain stabbed at him and his fur bushed out like a fern bush and he froze, realizing how stupid he must look. He flattened his fur.

"I know Brambleclaw," the skinny ginger tom bounded off and took his place beside Hollyleaf and the black she-cat nodded to acknowledge him.

"Jayfeather, help me!" Flametail wailed and Brambleclaw watched as Jayfeather tried to pull Flametail out of the lake threw the small ice hole. The blind medicine cat looked frustrated.

"Come on Flametail!" the grey tabby growled through muffled fur. And then he saw it. He couldn't find the words to describe it.

The tom had no fur that Brambleclaw could see and his eyes were round and white as if he was blind or very old. How could a cat grow so... ugly?

"Let him go Jayfeather," it was a whisper but Brambleclaw heard it. His voice was ghostlike and he felt his fur bristling. He smoothed it with a quick lick to the chest. Flametail let out a terrified squeal as he noticed the ugly tom.

Flametail dropped and Jayfeather let out a mournful cry as he lay there on the ice. Brambleclaw closed his eyes in pain. What a terrible way to die.

He had only two lives left to receive and he felt relieved. Mousefur and Longtail were walking towards him and it surprised him.

Mousefur's pelt was sleek and smooth like a young warrior and muscles flexed underneath her fur. Her eyes were bright with delight of being reunited with her friend. Longtail had clear eyes and Brambleclaw could tell that he wasn't blind anymore.

"It's nice to see you here Bramblestar," Longtail teased, kindness in his eyes. Brambleclaw purred in amusement and dipped his head in respect for the older warriors. Longtail flicked his tail. "None of that!" he laughed and Brambleclaw felt warmed to see his elders joking around. It was funny really.

"With this life that Mousefur and I give you, is tireless energy. Use it to fill out the roles of a leader." Mousefur smirked at him and flicked her ear.

"You wait till you get up here Bramblestar, it's amazing!" the wiry brown she-cat confessed and Longtail shoved her, looking amused.

"Let's not go on about how long till his death. We don't need to know that," Longtail touched his nose to Brambleclaw's and the pain was there. But he pulled through and Longtail smirked. "I always knew you were a strong one," he waved his tail in farewell and Mousefur and him bounded off towards the line of StarClan cats.

"There's a mouse on the pile, StarClan would be angry!" Mousefur retorted and Longtail took off into camp with protesting cats yelling after him. The first time, Brambleclaw had never noticed the intense look of fear in her eyes. Did she like him?

"I'll go after him!" Briarpaw shot out and charged after the blind elder. And then the tree fell with a loud crash and everyone closed their eyes, including him.

The memory was short as his eyes flickered open.

Firestar was walking towards him. His pelt shone like its own personal flame and Brambleclaw gazed, shock in his amber eyes. Firestar was muscular and young, not like when he'd last seen him. He was healthy and fit.

"Brambleclaw, my apprentice, my deputy, and my loyal warrior, I always knew you'd make it here one day, and here you are," Firestar spoke calmly, but excitement shone in his eyes. He looks so young!

"With this life, I give you nobility, certainty, and faith," he meowed and Brambleclaw nuzzled his leader.

This life stung like a million bee stings and it just kept going to the point where Brambleclaw was nearly dead on his paws. He was exhausted.

I have to keep going he pushed on, determined and the pain went away and so did Firestar. But the memory came.

He was seeing Firestar's thoughts Brambleclaw realized with a pang. Firestar was sitting in the clearing of the old forest, his fur ruffled.

I just saved Tigerstar's kit and I killed Yellowfang, Patchpelt and Halftail! Did I do the right thing? There was a timeskip and then he saw himself being selected deputy.

I did the right thing. I know it.

The same meow from the start came out and he tried to put together how that worked. How did they make it sound so familiar?

"Brambleclaw, your old life is no more. From this moment on, you'll be Bramblestar. All heil Bramblestar,"

StarClan cats chanted his new name and he gazed around, bewildered. My nine lives are over! Oh StarClan! I'm Bramblestar!

They chanted until he felt his eyes opening up to the hollow and the moonlit pool.

Bramblestar felt his eyes slowly opening. Relief poured over him as he realized he was no longer receiving his brutal nine lives and then. Jayfeather was standing over him, a hint of amusement in his blue eyes.

He wanted to go to his home where he had lived many seasons. But something would be different. He'd be the leader of that home. He was the leader of ThunderClan. That wasn't a role that got given out lightly. Oh StarClan.

He showed no sign of weakness as he got to his paws, stretching and standing tall. He turned to Jayfeather.

"Let's go home Jayfeather."

"Yes Bramblestar,"
