Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry had always managed
without muggle forms of entertainment and electric power. But
when Dudley snuck into the Hogwarts express and later arrived at
the school, he was the first thing anyone saw – his physique
covering most of the Entrance Hall, after all. He wanted to see
what it was like at his cousin's school. After all he had heard
many amusing stories from Harry on what it was like. Dudley had
brought along all his favourite playstation games and his tv set
to make sure he would not be bored. When the students of Hogwarts
saw his electronic equipment, they all started asking questions.
«What is that thing,» a tall, skinny girl asked
and pointed at his playstation.
«It's a PLAYSTATION,»
Dudley explained, and made sure she understood what a playstation
was by showing her the consoles. The skinny girl smiled happily
and was in awe by all the fancy electronics.
During the
annual feast, Dudley sat down next to Harry on the Gryffindor
table. He was happy to see all the scrumptious and delicious food
appearing at the golden plates, and asked Nearly Headless Nick
whether this was a new form of electronic teleportation developed
by wizards. Nick laughed so much his head almost fell off, as it
normally did when he laughed this much. Dudley blushed and didn't
ask any more questions, instead putting his mouth to full use by
eating.
Later Dumbledore arose from his chair and held his
speach – just like he always did. This year he didn't fail to
mention the newcomer, and after welcoming Dudley to the school,
they held a toast to celebrate his arrival.
When the students had left the Great Hall, and everyone had went to their rooms, Dudley planted his tv in front of the fireplace and started playing «Dungeons and Dragons». A few minutes later all the students sat behind him watching his every move, transfixed. Most of them had never seen anything like that, and even those who had stayed to watch because of his skills.
The next morning no students came to their classes. They were all fast asleep after staying up all night watching Dudley play. Some of them had even borrowed one of his other consoles – which of course made them the new heroes of the school.
The teachers were at first infuriated by this, but as soon as they discovered the reason they were amazed by the technology and the alienness of it all. By the next night, every single one of them had gotten their hands on their own copy of «Resident Evil 3: Nemesis». Every time they were stuck, they turned to Dudley for his expertise and advice, with which he was always more than happy to help them out.
After weeks of intensive playing, the teachers suddenly got an owl proclaiming the upcoming exams. They got really upset about this, as all the students had learned nothing the last couple of weeks – except new tactics and ways of playing «Bionicle and the Mysteries of the Toa Begin», and that would be less usefull when it came to magical facts and theories. So, they cancelled the exams, and started teaching the students how to operate the new computers they had bought (which Dudley had selected, being their expert on this stuff). This was far better than magic, at least to the Hogwarts students. Dumbledore even got a big, fantastic plasma TV screen in his office, and was indeed very happy about it all.
Some were of course unsatisfied with this new development, and they decided to go to another school as they were being mocked for their lacking computer skills.
The End.
