You Snooze, You Lose"Harry! Harry wait!" Cho yelled from down the corridor. If only to be polite, Harry stopped in mid-stride and waited as requested. She halted sharply right in front of him, panting.
"What do you want now, Cho?" he asked wearily as she caught her breath. "I really don't want to row with you again."
"I know. That's why I'm here." Harry waited patiently for her to get to the point. She stared at the floor as she said the next bit, "I wanted t—to know if you'd like to, you know, hang out sometime." When Harry didn't answer, she looked up at him hoping that he was at a loss for words.
Indeed he was. His mouth was slightly ajar, but he was not staring down at her. Instead, he was staring down the hall behind her. Confused, Cho turned on the spot to see what he was staring at, hoping that it was something incredibly important.
But no, the second she turned, all she saw was a flash of flaming red hair, and a tail of black robes whip around the corner.
"Excuse me," he said, hurriedly. So hurried in fact, that he didn't even give her so much as a glance as he said it. Cho scoffed in offense and followed him, determined to get her way. After all, hadn't she snagged Cedric Diggory? He must have been one of the most handsome boys in the school. Harry wasn't quite so handsome. He was handsome in his own way, but he should still feel proud that she was even thinking of pursuing him.
He rounded the corner with Cho close on the hem of his robes, but by the time she had turned the corner as well, she found Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley consumed in a passionate kiss.
Ginny opened her eyes in time to see Cho, and she winked. She winked! She was mocking Cho Chang! Then the youngest Weasley went back to business.
In outrage, Cho turned on a heel and went storming back to her dormitory.
"Close call?" Ginny asked Harry when they broke apart.
"Very," he said. "Thanks for saving the day."
"Yeah, I don't think she'll bother you about that again," Ginny whispered with a grin.
"Definitely not," he said. He took her by the hand and they continued on their way to the common room where they could bug Ron with their presence.
