"Alright so today we're going to be mixing these types of chemicals to..."
Kusakabe listened with a bored expression as the teacher spoke, giving them the details of their chemistry lesson. The smells of the chemicals permeated the air, though they weren't harmful so there was no danger. Kusakabe was only bothered by it because he could barely register a particular scent. He peeked out the corner of his eye to see Sajou, diligently taking notes.
He could pick out Sajou's scent, even among a crowd now. It was a fresh, lemony one, almost like a cleaning solution, but better. He had tried explaining it to Sajou once but couldn't quite get the right words to describe its complexity. But even if his brain didn't know, his nose did.
"Now then, you need to split into groups of four-"
Kusakabe teleported to Sajou's side. He instantly felt more relaxed being closer to him. They were quickly joined by two of Kusakabe's friends. He moved a little closer to Sajou's side. Not that he thought that anyone would try and make a move on his boyfriend, but there was no shortage of alphas looking to find their own omega. Kusakabe had once jokingly suggested he mark Sajou.
No kissing for three days cemented that it was not a joking matter. But that was fine. They did enough and hung around often enough that their scents rubbed off on one another. Kusakabe couldn't help but feel a little prideful of that, having his smell of Sajou. Everyone knowing that Sajou belonged to him. Sajou staring at him. Why was Sajou staring at him?
"Huh? What is it?" He looked to his two friends, both had discomforted expressions. One was holding his nose.
"Dude, you're projecting again", one complained.
"Eh?! Really?", Kusakabe looked back to Sajou for confirmation.
It was faint, but there was a pinkness in his cheeks. "You should get better control over that", he said.
"Ah. Sorry."
The rest of the class went on normally but Sajou brought it up again on the way home. "Earlier...why were you doing that? And in such a small space..."
It took Kusakabe a moment to realize what he meant. "Oh that? I was just thinkin'...and it just sorta happened..."
"Thinking about what?"
"You."
Sajou's steps paused and he looked to him with an unreadable expression. "What about me?", he finally said.
"About how you're mine."
"Y-yours?"
Kusakabe nodded. "You're mine, aren't you?", he leaned in close.
Sajou looked away. "If that is so, then the reverse is true."
"Huh?"
Sajou kissed his cheek. "You're mine."
A big grin appeared on Kusakabe's face and he hugged Sajou tight, pressing him against the wall of an overpass. Sajou's protests were minimal as he sighed and gave into his boyfriend's affections. He'd never say it out loud but being enveloped in Kusakabe's scent soothed him. He buried his nose into his neck and took a deep breath. Meanwhile, Kusakabe's hands were roaming up and down his body.
He was rubbing their torsos together while tangling their legs, trying to get as close to Sajou as he could without removing clothing.
"We belong to each other right?"
"Yeah."
"You won't let anyone else rub their scent on you like this, will you?"
"No."
"Then...can I mark you?"
This time it took four days of no kissing for him to learn his lesson.
