A/N: For my first fic here, I was (somehow) inspired by a meme in which you put your playlist on shuffle and write blurbs very loosely based on the songs that come up, during the time that the song lasts. This is the first of those, and hopefully I'll be inspired enough to continue.
Also, I own nothing.

Jim woke up early that morning, well aware of the empty spot next to him. She had only left a week earlier, but the hole that formed when he drove away after helping her move in to her dorm at Pratt was almost too much to bear. But other couples survived long-distance separations much longer than three months, he reminded himself. Putting it into perspective, he knew he shouldn't fret.
Suddenly, the cell phone on his nightstand rang. Looking at the number on the caller ID, he grinned.
Flipping open the phone and hearing her voice greet him cheerfully on the other end, he quipped, "Beesly, it's a good thing that thinking of you woke me up this morning, otherwise I'd be pretty disappointed in you for not letting me sleep in this weekend."
"Ha, ha," Pam replied. Jim sighed. It was so great to hear her voice, even from so far away.
Rolling over onto his pillow, still holding the phone to his ear, he admitted, "I'm just kidding, Beesly. I could never be disappointed by you."
