Crash!
Wincing at the sound of impact, Yuzu Hiiragi squatted down near Tsukikage, her finger prodding the ninja's rib. "Wow, I thought ninjas were supposed to be more agile than that." Her teasing voice earned her an indignant glare. "I jest."
The ninja stood up, dusting his pants off. "No, you're correct. I'm just not…" he gestured to himself. "Used to wearing this." For once, he wasn't wearing his ninja outfit, save for the mask that he refused to take off. Just a simple black t-shirt over black trousers with blue sleeves. "I feel rather exposed."
"I figured less weight would make it easier for stuff like this!" at 'this', she jumped high in the air into her Mozarta's waiting arms. The monster floated over him towards a higher platform of the Action Field they were practicing on. "Come on, try it! You'll have fun, I promise."
His eyes followed her movements and he nodded. "All right, here I go. Draw." He stared at card he drew and closed his eyes. "First, I activate the magic card Lightning Vortex, I discard one card from my hand to target one of your monsters and destroy it. I choose Melodious Diva, Mozarta." He pointed at Yuzu's monster just as a small cloud of lightning formed above him, sending a single strike at her.
Yuzu didn't seem fazed by this. Instead she took off running and did an impressive somersault over a brick wall. A second later, she triumphantly held up an Action Card.
"Action Magic: Mirror Barrier!" A sphere of mirrors formed around Mozarta, negating his card's effect. He tsk-ed and looked at his hand.
"As I thought…hm." he muttered to himself. Picking out a card, he set it on his duel disk. "I summon Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo to the field in attack mode. When this card is normal summoned, I can add a 'Ninjitsu Art' card from my deck to my hand."
Taking the card of his deck, he weighed his options and tried to think of a strategy. The point to this training exercise was to have fun, right? But what was considered fun? While not as strict or foreboding as the Ryozanpaku School, the Fuuma School's focus wasn't necessarily centered to having fun.
Yuzu had Mozarta on the field, along with a face down card and two more in her back row. So far, he only had Hanzo on the field and two cards in his Spell/Trap zone. What was one to do in a situation like this? He was confident in his own skills, but was also very wary of hers. He watched her swing her stocking-clad legs to and fro on a ledge, giving him a cheery wave.
"I then set two more cards and end my turn."
And on it went for a few more turns until Yuzu finally pinned him with her Bloom Diva, winning the duel. The Action Field faded into nothing and she extended her hand out to him. "That was fun, right?"
He took her hand and shook it, recalling the feeling of climbing on to his Tempest's back and moving around the field on its back. "Yes. Fun." The word still felt foreign to him but if it was for her, he would do his best to have that feeling again.
