Until The Very End
"Ron?" Hermione asked awkwardly. Her and Ron where holding hands in bed on a lazy Saturday morning.
"Yes?" He asked half asleep.
"Where is this going?" She listened carefully for his answer, but all she heard was a groan and him shuffling. He turned to her and their eyes met. He then looked down and fiddled with her hands as they intertwined. He was awkward, and she could tell. She was so worried that she had just completely destroyed the only relationship she had ever had. The best relationship she had ever had.
"Look, Hermione. I have never had a relationship that has ever lasted this long before. So I have never had this talk. But Harry said his with Ginny was a bitch." He attempted a laugh but it was unsuccessful. "I would like to think that it is going somewhere."
"So would I." Hermione replied. "Have you ever actually told someone that you ..."
"No."
"Ah. Commitment issues. Like Chandler off Friends."
"What the heck is Friends?" Hermione looked at him very confused.
"Seriously, Muggle thing. You should watch it. Greys Anatomy, bleeding Coronation Street!"
"Nope, and I hope Tina forgives David."
"Why would she he was an ass to her! Plus, Grey- Ronald!" She yelled and slapped him.
"What was that for?"
"You side tracked the conversation! Again!"
"No I haven't Hermione. Not even my mother."
"But do you?"
"Of course I ... love" He whispered that word "My mother."
"But do you ... me?"
"I don't understand why I never have said it actually."
"Ronald!"
"Yes Hermione. I do. Very much so. Too much. More than there are stars in the sky, more than there are people breathing. Just yes." They both smiled and he leaned in to kiss her when he stopped. "I am soo going to make you breakfast."
"No! Ron! No! Not after last time! Please!" But Ron didn't listen and he had left the room. Hermione got up in a huff and made her way downstairs, when Ron was on his way up. "That was quick."
"I know." He said smugly. "Now get back to bed!"
"Is that an invitation or an order?"
"Are you hungry?"
"For your cooking? Not so much."
"Hermione please."
"Fine. Ronald." She went back to bed and he placed magically toasted bread on her lap. Somehow, he had written in melted butter 'I love you.' She smiled at him and he kissed her full on the lips.
As she went to eat the toast he stopped her. "You really don't want to eat that." He brushed it aside onto the floor and hugged her. He got up again and headed to his jacket pocket and revealed a small box. "But now its question time for me." He made his way over to her, not wanting rejection. He knew he wouldn't get it, but he was so scared that she would find someone better than him, who was actually in her league, not far out of it like he felt he was. "Hermione ... will you ... you know... marry me?"
She looked at him in utter disbelief. His heart was just about to sink from rejection, when she threw himself at him laughing uncontrollably.
"Of course! Of course of course of course!" They were out of their bedroom now, and he was staggering backwards due to the unexpected weight. He gave up and decided to collapse on the floor and she was on top of him still laughing. He scooped some hair behind her ear to put it in the correct place.
"I love you Hermione Granger."
"I love you too Ronald Billius Weasley." She was elated at the feeling that he had actually said it, but also because she was the first person he had ever said it too. They were both smiling.
"Until the Very End, Hermione. I mean that. Until the Very end."
