SPN100 Challenge: blow and stream. He might need the occasional rant, but in the end Sam has faith in his brother. Catching up on a previous prompt too, so it's a double drabble. 200 words.

Blowing Off Stream
"The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock" – Matthew 7:25
Dean had made it sound so simple; just blow into Sharpsburg, do the tourist thing at the battlefields, then a quick salt and burn, and be gone by dawn.
So how come we're blundering through the woods chased by who knows what? Sam wondered, picking up the pace as he was sure he could feel the thing's hot breath on the back of his neck. He groaned inwardly as the cold, oozing sensation in his boots announced that he'd 'discovered' the Antietam Creek.
"I think we lost it," declared Dean, pulling Sam from the water to the safety of the opposite bank.
"Yeah, but what's that?" Sam asked, pointing at the eerie, blue lights that had appeared and were moving to surround them.
"Ah," said Dean, weakly.
Sam could almost see the cogs moving in his brother's mind.
"Well, like that guy in Ghostbusters said, 'whatever you do, don't cross the streams'," Dean quipped.
For a fleeting moment Sam wondered if it was okay to abandon Dean to his fate and just save himself. In his heart he'd never consider it.
After all, here in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by hundreds of angry spirits, who else you gonna call?
