The One Gift that Matters (DimitrixRose)

A/N: This is my first time writing a Vampire Academy fanfic since I started reading the series. I haven't read past Shadow Kiss so please don't tell me that this is what happened or something along those lines. Please enjoy the fluff.

Her dark brown eyes narrowed a little as she glared at the dummy that was in front of her. With a flick of her glance, she caught her instructor but also crush still reading his western novel that he picked out of his pocket. With a shake of her head, she balled her hand into a fist, throwing it at the straw filled dummy.

"Damn it." She cursed as she glared at the dummy then turned it to the man with shoulder length dark brown hair that was put into a ponytail. "Dimitri."

He looked up from the book with a slightly bored expression on his face. "What is it Roza?"

Her heart fluttered at her name spoken in his slight Russian accent. "Can't I have a moving dummy or something to simulate a Strigoi or I won't be any good at attacking if one ever attacks."

He shrugged, snapping the book shut after dog earring. Getting up from where he sat, he walked over to her. "You sure you want that to happen?"

She nodded impatiently with her arms folded.

"Fine, it's your soreness in the morning Roza." He said in that not caring tone. With the experience he gained from being on the field, he grabbed a hold of her neck, throwing her to a wall.

She choked at the hard touch the wall had on her back.

"You're being too slow Roza. You need to gain speed or you'll never survive out there after graduation. Do you want to fail Lissa and yourself?" He asked at the end as he walked over to her brisk fully.

She growled, relying on her quick temper as she formed another fist. Throwing it at him, he caught it with no effort on his part.

"Still too slow." He hissed, throwing the fist away and throwing his own at her stomach. After he pulled it away, he stood up straight. "That's good enough for today."

She coughed as she fell to the ground from the pain in her stomach. Glaring up at him, she hissed, "I don't think so Dimitri."

He rolled his eyes and helped her up like any gentleman would do for a lady if they had some manners in them. With a smirk, he pulled out something from his duster. "Close your eyes."

She rolled her eyes before she did what she was ordered to do. Holding her hands out, she felt something touch it.

"You can open them now." He ordered in a way. He watched her open them to show a book in her hands.

"What's this?" She asked, turning it over to look at it.

"A western romance that you might like. Girls your age is into these things." He said with a small smirk on his lips. Leaning down, he pecked her lips quickly, "I just hope you don't mind it."

She looked at him like he was insane but ignored that feeling. "What's this for? It's not my birthday."

"Merry Christmas Roza. Head on home before I throw you to it." He said, making her run for it. As he was left there, he couldn't help but laugh at her reaction. He wasn't really going to throw her; he was too fond of her to do that. Also, he wasn't going to be like his father.

"Merry Christmas Dimitri." She whispered into the cold air as she headed back to her dorm.

A/N: I hope you enjoyed my first fanfic for it. I hope it wasn't too bad. Please review and tell me if it was good or not. Flamers, good bye.
