DISCLAIMER: No I do not own Yu Yu Hakusho or Matantei Loki Ragnarok. This is just for fun.

She never wanted to be one of those kinds of drunks. The ones that hear voices and see things that everybody knows just can't happen in life. The ones that claim to see aliens, their dead drinking buddies, flying monkeys, purple cats, fish with legs, or worse, talking dogs. She never wanted to be one of those kinds of drunks.

Now, she knew she was a drunk. She spent most of her time sprawled out either on her couch, the bed, the floor, someone else's bed, floor or couch and one time in a jell cell. Of course she was a drunk.

She also believed in paranormal things. She didn't believe in aliens or things like that, but she did believe in miracles. Her son came back to life after being killed by a car. Of course she believed in the unanswerable.

But this was just ridiculous. It was unheard of. Sure they looked normal, but the conversation was just, ridiculous.

Not that the young man and the teenage girl were talking of anything out of the normal. Even if he did have green hair, she'd seen stranger. Botan after all hadblue hair. And the girl had pink hair….well that was just interesting. And the constant shouts of "Fushigi Mystery!" were completely normal…At least she thought it could be. All right so those two didn't look normal, but they were at least obeying the laws of possibilities. After all, her hair color could be just a bad case of hair dye, right?

It was the other one that was not normal. The little boy looked to be about eight or nine years old. And the little black puppy that he was holding looked normal too. But their conversation was anything but normal. In fact, a young boy should not be having a conversation with a puppy at all. And as they passed by she caught some of their conversation.

"Daddy! The mystery girl got us lost again!" The puppy said this.

"It's all right Fenrir. This is just a longer way home." The little boy sounded like a parent trying to placate a whining child.

"But Daddy!"

"Awww! Fenrir-kun wants to walk Loki-kun!" The girl didn't seem to understand the puppy's words.

"Nii-san!!!" apparently the puppy mumbled something that the green-haired man didn't take a liking to.

"Fenrir." The little boy scolded.

"Gomen Daddy." And that was the last that she was able to understand as the group turned a corner and left her hearing range.

Atsuko looked at the half-empty bottle in her hands and then back up to where the strange group disappeared to. Then she took one long hard look at the bottle. That was when she made up her mind. She took one more swig of the alcoholic beverage before tossing it over her shoulder.

" No more. I'm going to sober up. That was the last drink I'll ever drink." She passed out on the couch and her dreams were filled with talking puppies and people with strange colored hair.

Yuusuke was surprised to say the least that his mother had sobered up. Maybe I should leave more often. Apparently, he thought it had been his absence that had caused her to sober up. Obviously, he hasn't met the members of the Enjaku Detective Agency yet.
