Jealousy

It annoys Sasori beyond words to hear Deidara's voice so early in the morning. It's not just the fact that the day has hardly started at five-thirty, nor is it the way the blonde manages to be perky before the sun has even risen. Hell, it's not even the fact that he can tell the brat is going to end up with Kakuzu's hand locked over his mouth in an attempt to shut him up, which will result in his sulking for the next few hours.

Mostly it was just the way the fool so casually struck up a conversation- not just banter, but actually managed to sucker people into a real conversation- with anyone who happened to be in the room with him. It was the fact that he had taken the puppet's grumbling 'leave me alone' to be serious, and was ignoring him completely. It was the fact that Hidan was enjoying the blonde's attention, when it should be Sasori's.

He was not normally a greedy person- Kakuzu had that down for all of them here in the happy home of the Akatsuki- but when it comes to Deidara he can't help it.

Of course, inevitably Kakuzu grabs hold of Hidan and hauls him out of the kitchenette, the outraged screech of the zealot quickly lost to distance and thick walls. Turning his eyes back to the now pouting bomber, Sasori finally speaks, the second time this morning. "Don't waste your time speaking so early."

Wide blue eyes meet his cold red ones, offended and ready to argue. "Hey, danna, just because you and Kakuzu aren't morning people doesn't mean talking in the morning is a waste of time, un!"

The puppet master doesn't look away or even change expression, silencing his partner with an gentle finger to his lips. Without batting an eye, he says evenly: "It's a waste of time to speak with anyone but me."

And though it's early and Deidara hasn't brushed his teeth yet, the brilliant laugh and quick kiss are almost enough to make up for the brat's infuriating perkiness.
