Authors Note: This is the third in my "Sing me a Song" Series based on the different relationships of Hermione Granger and Severus Snape. I have tried to use a wide variety of songs, so as to portray the many different relationships that can come from this pairing, everything from loathing and hate, to love and friendship. If you have any other songs that you would like to see then please let me know.
Disclaimer: Characters and Settings belong to the wonderful J.K Rowling, "Running" belongs to Evermore, and what you don't recognize is entirely my own imagination.
Finally, however unfortunate it is, I do not receive any monies for this. So on with the story.
She ran, He was deceived
He had believed in many things. Foolish wand-waving and silly incantations were just a couple of them, he had also believed that no-could love him. That was until she had re-entered his life. She had returned to Hogwarts to teach, he always knew she would make a good teacher.
Too many words, too
many lies
I can't quite see the truth
When I look into your
eyes
I feel I could
And I know I should
Step away, turn
around
Let my feet hit the ground
Running

Their relationship had started with guarded respect for each other that had turned to admiration, and slowly that admiration had turned to friendship. More time passed, and finally they admitted that their friendship had turned to love. And then, barely a year ago, she had disappeared, taking everything in her rooms. She left one thing, a note. It had one simple line, "Please, do not look for me".
You don't need a
broken heart
To know a heart can be broken
You just need to
open your eyes
We don't need to be deceived
To know a lie can
be spoken
We don't have to learn everything twice
His whole world had crumbled. He had told her that he loved her, she had replied in kind and then, she had left. It had left him feeling broken, confused and deceived.
I don't know, I
really don't know
If this castle in the sand
Is strong enough
to stand
Clouds come down
Clouds come down
That night the rain had fallen, and like the rain that washed away the past, he too had washed his past away. That night, he had drunken himself into oblivion.
I feel I could
And
I know I should
Step away, turn around
Let my feet hit the
ground
Running
Running
Running
Running
He had awoken the next morning, with a major hangover, but the night had given him determination. He was going to find his Hermione, and bring her back to the castle. It didn't matter that she had asked not to be found; he needed her to much to listen.
You don't need a
broken heart
To know a heart can be broken
You just need to
open your eyes
We don't need to be deceived
To know a lie can
be spoken
We don't have to learn everything twice
So he had looked, near and far, from London to Melbourne and everywhere in between. He received bits and pieces of information, some from the strangest of sources, but it didn't matter how small and inconsequential the information was he would follow it until it couldn't be followed any longer.
Cos I know how it
feels
All the pain is so real
Cos you sink and you drown
'Till your feet hit the ground
Running
Running
Running
Running
And finally, after months and months of searching, he had given up. He couldn't and wouldn't do it any more. Because, when it came down to it, she had ran, and Severus Snape had been deceived.
Cos you don't need a
broken heart Whoa
To know a heart can be broken
You just need to
open your eyes
And we don't need a TV show
To show us which
way to go
We just need to do what we know
