Why do the good die young? Manny gazed at one of the many old photos of her, Emma, and JT. It had been a day at the park, Spike had took them. They had to beg her for hours before getting her to agree. They were six years old at the time and even though Manny was smiling, her eyes were red and puffy. She remembered dropping her icecream cone and Spike's complaints of an empty wallet. She smiled softly as she remembered JT offering her his own and she gladly accepted it. He was always putting others before him.

She placed the photo back in her album and turned the page, finding another. This one was of JT and her only. She had dragged him to the skating rink. Manny began to laugh as she recalled JT's first attempt to get on the ice. Her eyes grew watery and she wiped her tears away as she thought of how horrible that day had been for him. He had fell several times, causing him to ache the next day, and he even spilt his hot chocolate on himself after being pushed out of the way by some little six year old kids.

It's funny. One minute he was there complimenting Liberty on how beautiful she looked, the next he was gone. Forever. Slidding the photo back into it's place she closed her album and stood up to place it on Emma's bookshelf. As she did, a picture fell to her feet and she bent down to pick it up.

It was JT's grade ten school picture. He wouldn't stop complaining of how stupid he had looked and refused to give the wallet sizes his grandma had purchased out to any of his friends. Manny had pleaded with him to get her own copy and he surprisingly gave in, probably because the two had became and item at the time being. He ended up burning the rest of them and getting a weeks worth of grounding for doing so. She turned it over to reveal it's back side and read the messy hand writing:

'I'm one lucky person. -- JT.'

She reread it again before flipping it back over to see him grinning stupidly from ear to ear. A stream of tears fell down Manny's face before she opened her mouth to speak.

"No JT, I'm the luckiest."
