The Moon
Remus Lupin stood on the balcony of the Astronomy Tower- where he had stood all afternoon. He hadn't gone to dinner and no one had found him. Yet. He stared at the crescent moon with both hatred and curiosity in his eyes. He sighed, frustrated. Today in Defense Against the Dark Arts they each faced their boggart. He had known what it would turn into the moon and had asked the professor if he could skip it, but he had insisted. Professor Dumbledore also thought it was a good idea for Remus to face his boggart. Remus turned the moon boggart into a round of cheese and everyone laughed, just like they had laughed at everyone else, although no one understood why he was scared of the moon. No one cared. Remus ran from the room then, to the abandoned (for the day) Astronomy Tower. He also checked to make sure there wasn't a class tonight, so no one would accidentally find him. He didn't notice the concerned dark haired boy watching him until Sirius tapped him on the shoulder. Remus jumped. "Oh, sorry, Rem, I didn't mean to scare you, I figured you'd hear me coming..." Sirius said. He looked at his friend, worry in his eyes, and asked, "Are you OK?"
"Yeah," Remus mumbled.
"Oh, c'mon, you're going to have to do better than that! What's bothering you? Please?"
"I hate that it has so much power over me."
"Mooney, you know we all think you are the kindest guy in the world, so don't say you're a monster. And don't pity yourself, it makes you look mopey," Sirius smirked.
"You always know what to say, huh, Padfoot?" Remus asked, a small smile playing on his lips.
Sirius matched his grin. "Absolutely. Now c'mon, I'm taking you to a kitchen raid because you skipped supper." He took Remus' arm and practically dragged him to the kitchen. As they walked back out, Remus looked at Sirius and whispered, "Thank you."
The end.
