Luke to Hermes: Not Good Enough
You try to talk to me,
but you know what?
It's too late.
I was just another child
birthed by another one of your flings.
Did you know I called for you,
when my mother went crazy,
trying to "protect" me?
You probably knew,
but you didn't care.
I wasn't good enough
to be the son of the
god of thieves.
You stole my heart,
you know that?
You were my father;
Of course I loved you.
Loved. Past tense.
But you think there's a part of
the old me, deep down,
behind my hatred for the gods.
Now that I'm going to be your
downfall,
I'm suddenly good enough for you.
But now you're not good enough
for me.
