Return of the Exes
It began on a Saturday. 2-D's cell phone rang on the floor. Reese happened to reach down and pick it up.
"Hello?" she mumbled under the sheets.
"Sweetie?" a Manchester accent asked on the other line. Reese lifted her head, frowning at the voice.
"Who is this?" she asked.
"2-D?" the girl on the other line asked.
"No," Reese replied. "Who is this?"
"I could ask you the same thing," the woman remarked.
"I'm his girlfriend," Reese answered rather annoyed. "Who the hell are you?" The woman hung up the phone. Reese looked at the mobile, blinking. What the hell?
It didn't end there.
Reese waited for her boyfriend to wake up. She clutched his mobile in her hand. She had a chance to look at the number. Reese tried to calm herself down long enough to speak rationally. Yet, she didn't know how long that would last.
An hour later, 2-D drew his eyes open. He noticed his girlfriend frowning.
"Babe," he said. "What's the matter?" Reese showed him his phone.
"Honey, who's Tiffany?" she hissed. 2-D lifted his head.
"Why?" he asked.
"She called this morning," his girlfriend complained. "Care to tell me why." 2-D frowned when it all came to him.
"Oh," he mumbled.
"Oh, what?" Reese asked.
"She's me ex," he admitted sheepishly.
"And why would your ex be calling you?" his girlfriend asked. 2-D pressed his lips together.
"Ran into her last night," he answered. "Guess she still likes me."
"Then tell her off," Reese pressed. "You have a girlfriend and baby now."
"Alright," he said. "I'll see what I can do."
"Thank you," Reese said. Right then, his phone rang in her hand. Reese looked and saw Tiffany calling again.
"Well, here's your chance," she said. She shoved the phone in his hand. "Don't blow this!" Reese added. 2-D took the phone, nodding.
"Hello?" he asked. The conversation lasted about five minutes. Reese clocked five every second and word. This had to end and now. 2-D hung up the phone.
"Well?" Reese asked. Her boyfriend turned his attention to her.
"It's done," he said.
"Good," Reese said. However, there came a knock on his bedroom door.
"Who is that?" 2-D asked.
"It's me!" another woman's voice bellowed. Before 2-D could say word, Reese leapt out of bed and raced to the door. She drew it open to find a small redheaded woman looking up at her. Reese raised an eyebrow at her.
"Can I help you?" she asked. The redhead shuffled her feet.
"Uh… is 2-D in?" she asked.
"Who are you?" Reese asked.
"I'm Emily," the redhead answered. "2-D's ex-girlfriend." Reese's eyes burned with fire.
"Get out!" she yelled. She tried to close the door, but Emily did her best to block it open.
"Get out!" Reese yelled. "Get out! Get out! Get out!"
"But I want to see 2-D!" Emily cried.
"No!" Reese screamed. "Now go away!"
"I want to see him!" the redhead shouted.
"2-D?" that Manchester voice from earlier asked aloud. Both women looked up to see a brunette walking towards them. Reese narrowed her eyes at her.
"Who are you?" she asked.
"Tiffany," the Manchester woman answered. "Is 2-D in?"
"No!" the other two women snapped. Tiffany charged over for a look. Reese and Emily prepared to block her off. All the while, 2-D sat in his room hiding from the noise. He covered his ears and curled up in the fetal position in his bed.
The End (For Now!)
