A Sodden Tale

WindClan was open,

WindClan was free.

Hares lurked under rocks

And grass swayed in the breeze.

It was a stormy breeze;

Bringing something unseen.

-x-

Storm clouds rolled

And plump drops made

Water splatter on the pelts

Of cats worn with age.

The elders sought shelter,

Kits played 'till they were soaked,

But a single cat

Sensed something was provoked.

-x-

Just a dot on the horizon,

The patrol streaked in,

Fur bristling with fury

And ready to defend their life.

"ShadowClan is coming,

But there's not much time."

"ShadowClan is coming,

And there's anger in their eyes."

-x-

As lightning flashed,

And panic increased

As thunder crashed,

There came the enemy's shrieks.

An unexpected confrontation

But it was more than that,

ShadowClan was driving them out.

Unwanted;

StarClan had driven these doubts.

-x-

Running through the rain

Rain bathing their shame

Their lost hope

Their lost home

The lost lives;

Made the warm storms cold.

Not a chance

To turn back,

They had lost,

Now sewer cats.
