Reflections

Yugi just looked up at the black sky. A sky filled with tiny lights and new thoughts.

He always looked up to the sky's abyss nowadays. Just thinking and wondering about a friend he had lost years earlier.

His eyes blinked several times. He wanted to cry. He wanted to let all his fears and sadness dissolve down in his face like they were never there.

"Hey Yuge?" A voice called out from behind the distracted man.

"Huh?" Yugi looked away from the stars and turned around seeing his best friend standing behind him with a smile across his face.

"You okay, Yugi?" Joey questioned him. His smile was slowly disappearing.

"Oh, yeah…I'm fine Joey. I was just thinking about…" Yugi turned away and looked back up at the night's sky.

"Thinking about…oh…" Joey sighed and walked up to sit next to Yugi. "You still miss him?"

"Yeah…" Yugi said closing his eyes, trying to prevent his tears from forming.

"Me too Yuge…that guy, he was something…" Joey said looking up at the sky as Yugi had been. "But he's back where he should be…"

"I know…I'm being selfish Joey…I just miss him so much." Yugi said crying.

"You're not being selfish, Yuge. You just miss your best friend. What's so wrong about that?"

"I wish every day that I hadn't beaten him. Then, he would still be here." Yugi cried out.

Joey sighed and looked over at his friend with a frown. "Yuge…he's still here."

"Huh?" Yugi opened his eyes and sniffed. "How? What are you talking about?"

"He's here…" Joey said pointing at Yugi's forehead, "And here." He said pointing at Yugi's chest.

"What are you talking about Joey? Atem went to the afterlife." Yugi said sniffing again and wiping away his fallen tears.

"If you remember him, then he will always be in your thoughts and your heart." Joey said with a smile.

Yugi looked at his friend with shock. "Did you come up with that yourself or did you get help?"

Joey grinned. "I shall never reveal that secret." He finished pointing his finger up to the sky.

Yugi smiled and looked back up at the stars. "Thanks Joey."

"That's what friends are for."

The End
