The screams of the House Elves echoed throughout the palace walls. King Darius and Queen Ophelia silently ran through the marble corridors trying to get as far away as possible from the screams that seemed to tourment them wherever they turned.
" Julian!" Darius called out.
"Master?" Julian asked when he appeared. "You should have gone already. Where is Prince Theodore?"
"He has fallen." Ophelia said gently. "We need you to do one last favour."
Julian nodded. "Anything for Master and Mistress."
"We need to to take Persephone to the safe house. We need you to look over her. Jessica will arrive shortly to raise her. Look after any heirs, educate them." Darius explained. "Should we fall we want Persephone to succeed us. They do not know it yet but the wizarding world will need us again."
Ophelia handed Julian, Persephone. The king and queen kissed their daughter tenderly one last time before she disappeared with a pop. A few short moments later and the king and queen fell, bathed in a green light.
Persephone grew up homeschooled by Julian and her mother's best friend Jessica. She lived a life of secrecy, becoming a Healer and marrying a young Auror called John Hartley. She went on to have two children; a son, Eric and a daughter, Emilia. Contrary to what her father said, the wizarding world didn't need a royal. She prayed to Merlin that they wouldn't need her children and they didn't.
No royal was needed until August 11th 1980 when Persephone's great great great great great granddaughter Odalie Ashley Fawley was born.
