Buffy huffed, smoothing down the lace bodice of her dress, her lack of comfort evident on her face.
Marty and Kira stood beside her, as they shared knowing looks.
"You'll be fine slayer." Kira mumbled, placing a soft hand on Buffy's shoulder. Despite the differences the two girls had had, they eventually became close friends. Buffy smiled at Kira, before walking over to the hotel room's couch, where her 2 inch high heels sat, ready to give her blisters.
She grimaced, and Marty snorted before sitting down beside her, as he unbuckled the strap of the heels, allowing her to put them on. Her boyfriend smiled at her, and Buffy gently rolled her eyes, before kissing his cheek in thanks. Marty was the perfect boyfriend, always attentive to what she needed, and Buffy knew that she was lucky to have him. Kira fake gagged in the background, and Marty gave her the finger.
Kira rolled her eyes in response, before pulling her curls into a half ponytail.
Buffy looked at the two, a sense of contentedness washing over her body. She smiled confidently before speaking. "How do we look guys?" Marty and Kira shared a look, before responding at the same time. "Trying to look smart, but not too smart to threaten anything they say."
Buffy snorted, knowing exactly what the two of them were talking about. This meeting, with the Mayor of Shadyside was incredibly important, as they were trying to get a program started throughout the small town, that would give kids a chance to get off their gadgets and doing active games. It was a great initiative, and Dr. Metcalf had immediately been in support of it. The three of them had quickly created a presentation, and presented it to the school board. It was immediately approved, and they decided to take it to city council, in hopes that it could be implemented at every school in Shadyside.
Now, they had their chance, and neither one of the three of them planned on letting that chance pass them by. Buffy pulled her phone out of her jean jacket, looking at the time. It was 2:23 pm, and they had 20 minutes until their meeting with Mayor Samantha Delgado.
Smirking at the other two, she stood up, an air of confidence in her actions as she sprinted out of the room, calling over her shoulder, "Last one to the car is a bum egg!" Kira and Marty shared a look of disbelief, before running after Buffy, their excitement rising.
