A small blonde girl was reading under a tree. Her Mom had dropped her off with the book 'Boggie Bear'. At the age of five the girl could read pretty well.
All of her peace was ended by a soccer ball hitting her head.
"OW" She cried dropping her book. Her little head of curls flipping about.
"I'M SORRY! MY FAULT!" A little dark haired came running up to her "Are you alright?"
She nodded and stood up. "I'm fine. Do you play soccer?" She asked pointing to the soccer ball a few feet away. He grabbed the ball with a huge smile on his face and nodded.
"My Mommy says I'm really good at it!"
"Can I play?" She asked hopefully.
He paused and thought about it "Nope". The girl's face fell. "Because you're a stranger. And my Mommy says I can never ever play with strangers." He shook his head sadly. But her face bore a grin
"My name is Samantha Puckett but I hate the name Samantha so call me Sam!" She popped out her hand.
"My name's Freddie Benson!" He shook her hand. "We can play now 'cause your not a stranger!"
After about twenty minutes of soccer playing, the two rested under a big oak tree.
"Wowie Sam you're the best soccer player ever!" Freddie said all sweaty
"Thank you!" She said clearly proud of her talent. "Your mom was right you are good" Sam looked up and got an excited grin on her face. She sprang up and grabbed a low branch to pull her self up on.
"SAM! What are you doing?" Freddie called panicked. She just laughed and grabbed an other branch she could climb
"Come on up Freddie!"
"I-I'll get hurt"
"You'll be fine! Just jump!" Freddie took and deep breath in and jumped.
"A little higher this time!" Sam tried not to laugh, it was a pathetic jump
He sprang up again and caught the branch.
"Good Job" She squealed swing up to a higher branch like a monkey. "Now pull your self up!" She started to climbed
"Oh my mommy's not gonna be happy about this" Freddie muttered and started to climb behind her.
Sam obviously was an experienced climber. She swung, grabbed, pulled, and jumped like an acrobat. Freddie on the other hand was very cautious. And Sam constantly had to wait for him to ketch up.
"SAAM! WHERE ARE WE GOING! " Freddie called up to her.
"There!" She called. And pointed to a fat branch, it was big enough so they could both sit on it with out snapping. When the reached their destination Freddie gasped
"You can see the whole park from here!"
"Maybe even the whole world" Sam pointed out. Freddie nodded .it was possible.
"FREDDIE!! FREDDIE" His nearly hysterical mother cried "GET DOWN FROM THEIR RIGHT NOW BEFORE YOU BREAK YOUR NECK!!" Freddie sighed and looked at Sam who smiled a started to climb down with him.
"OH MY GOD FREDDIE WHAT WERE YOU THINKING" His mother grabbed him and held him tightly.
"I'm okay Mommy!" He said as he wriggled free off her grasp. "This is my new friend Sam!" He said motioning to her. She step forward and gave a little wave "Can she come to our building tomorrow?" Her eyes widened.
"You own your own building!" Before they had a chance to explain to her they heard some one calling
"SAAAAM! SAAAAM! WHERE ARE YOOOOOU?" A woman with a book clutch in her raced over "There you are Sam!" She noticed Mrs. Benson and her son "I am so sorry! I'll pay for anything she broke!"
" I didn't break anything Mommy! I was playing with Freddie!" She pointed to him
"It's true. Can she come to my building tomorrow?" He asked hopefully.
"I don't see why not, is it okay with you …"
"Della"
"Amy"
"It's
not a problem at all. Here's our address" She handed her a piece
of paper "And come around noon."
"BYE-BYE FREDDIE!" She
gave him a hug
"Bye-Bye Sam " He hugged her back. Then he grabbed his mommy's hand and walk off towards his building
