Life Is Precious: A How To Train Your Dragon Fanfiction
Chapter-1 The Beginning
A/N This is a Modern AU (Alternate Universe) Meaning it's the same as ours. Thank you. strength in cursing.
Hiccup Haddock lived in a two-story house with his parents, Stoick and Valka Haddock. Hiccup was 17 and a Sophomore at Berk High. At the start of this year and the few before that, he was a bully. He mainly targeted Astrid Hofferson, Snotlout Jorgenson, and 'Fishlegs' Ingerman. His two friends in bullying are Ruffnut and Tuffnut. During lunch, they were planning a prank on Astrid. Then the bell rang early. They forgot it was an early dismissal from lunch. When they arrived in English, they got scoffed at. Then the teacher walked in. "Alright, open your books to page sixty-five."
Two Hours Later...
Everyone stood attentively during a class switch when two police officers of the BPD (Berk Police Department) walked into the school, looking for someone. Then they found who they were looking for. "Mr. Haddock, come with us please?" Hiccup forward and went to the office with the officers. "What's going on?" He said. "Hiccup, your parents were in a car accident off the Berk interstate to Hopeless. Your father was killed and your mother is in critical condition. We're so sorry Hiccup."
"No, they were fine this morning... He can't be gone." Principal Wing motioned to a seat next to the door and Hiccup sat there while she helped calm him.
"It's going to be okay Hiccup, we have counseling if you need it and you can always come and talk to me. But, these officers will take you to Berk General Hospital."
He got up and right before he was out the door he turned to Mala and said. "Thank you, Principal Wing." She nodded and they went to the officer's car. "We'll have someone pick your car up unless you want to come back later?" Hiccup nodded. "I'm Officer Alvin and this is Officer Heather." Heather nodded and said. "You hungry?"
"No." Hiccup stared out the window and the officers looked at each other. They took toward Berk General.
After Arriving at Berk General...
The doctor showed Hiccup to his mother. She was on a ventilator and at least two IV's. An officer stayed in the waiting room and Heather stayed with Hiccup as she personally knew Valka. "Your mom is an incredible woman Hiccup. She was worried about you when you were born."
"Yeah she is, why was she scared for me?" He said that with glossy eyes.
"You were born early, by about a month." He was shocked.
"No way!" She thought he knew but chuckled. "Yeah, you were small but your dad knew you'd make it. Look at you now."
"Yeah, you can't beat... Al This." She laughed.
"Yeah, the world needs more... This." He laughed.
"You just gestured to all of me."
"We do need more of you."
"MOM!" He was excited as his mother scared him.
When the Doctor Walked In...
"Hiccup, your mother is going to have to stay a week or two. Is there anyone else we can contact to help Hiccup at home, Mrs. Haddock?" She nodded."Leave him with Heather, she might as well be blood. I've known her for three-quarters of my life." The doctor nodded and walked out. "Well, we have a lot to catch up on Hiccup. I'm off now anyway. I just need to go to the station to change into my off-duty clothes." Hiccup nodded. "Can we get my car first?" She nodded and Hiccup kissed his mother goodbye. "I'll see you tomorrow Hiccup." He nodded and said. "See you tomorrow as well. I'll come after school." They kissed again and when he left his mother started crying quietly. "Staying strong for my kid is going to be harder than I thought."
After they got Hiccup's Car...
Hiccup was driving behind Heather's squad car. She parked in the officer spot while Hiccup went over to the civilian parking. Hiccup then went in and saw Heather in her own clothes. A white T-shirt and blue jeans. With some grey tennis shoes. "Well, you could go to school and not get noticed." She plays punched his arm. "Sorry." He said. "Uh Huh. Thanks for taking me home. I hate walking across town." She said.
"You know since my mom trusts you, you can stay at our place. It's closer to the station and I can take you to and from work. School's just down the road." Heather kind of blushed and felt embarrassed at the offer. "Thanks." She said. When they pulled up to the house, Hiccup showed her the couch and started to work on dinner.
