Disclaimer: I do not own TF2. If I did, it'd be called canon, people.

It's easy to pick Scout out. He's the cocky one, the first one out the door and into the fray; the smart mouth, the one who got whooped regularly for his smart mouth, mostly by Spy.

He is the epitome of youthful recklessness because he is the one who acts immortal and stupid. The one itching for a fight. Most stop analyzing there and dismiss him as just an idiot redneck.

But to those who know him, they see more.

Heavy sees a boy who covers up insecurity & fear with brash cockiness because just maybe, if you do that, the fear goes away. That's why sometimes, Heavy shares a sandwich with him because he hates the look on Scout's face when he realises it's not working.

Medic sees a boy whose body is littered with scars from a broken beer bottle. From where his stepfather got a little too drunk.

Sniper sees a boy who only learned to use a bat when his stepfather was beating his mom and sister.

Spy sees a boy who runs into battle to take out as many enemies as he can before his friends have to.

Miss Pauling sees a smarmy, idiotic brat who talks smack, smacks, and eats sugar- laden snacks. But she also sees a man, who protects the people closest to him with an unrelenting determination. That's why she's so pleased when he protects her against the giant bread.

Scout sees himself as part of a team, a part of the crazy, disfunctional, trigger- happy team that strangely enough, has become family. With Heavy, Medic, Sniper, Spy, Engineer, Soldier, Demoman, and of course, Pyro, Scout sees himself as... wanted.

A/N: A tribute to my brother, who introduced me to this game and a big shout out to my friends: Writer of Everything, and to Whatevermynameis on YouTube. Hope you enjoyed!
