Disclaimer: I do no own Slayers, or the song "Electric Blues" by the Cranberries
Summary: A one shot songfic dedicated to my favorite pair on Slayers. LG
Always be near Me
Lina wrapped herself tightly in the thin blankets on her temporary bed. The shivers persisted. So did her dreams. For the past few days, they had been residing in her subconscious, waiting to attack her in the sanctity of her slumber. And they were all about the same thing…
Electric
blue eyes where did you come from?
Electric blue eyes who sent
you?
Electric blue eyes, always be near me.
Electric blue
eyes, I need you.
Gourry was just finished polishing the hikari no ken when he heard the light tap at his door. He was quite surprised to see Lina there, a look in her ruby eyes that was not unlike desperation. He was about to ask her what was wrong when she fell into his arms, sobbing hysterically.
Na na
no, na na no...
As gently as possible, the tall swordsman set the petite sorceress on the bed, and in a gentle voice, asked her why she was in her current state. Stifling her sobs into sniffles, Lina whimpered, "I…I've been having these dreams lately, and you're in them, and-and you're always…dying!"
Domine,
Domine Deus,
Domine, Adiuva Me.
Domine, Domine Deus,
Domine,
Adiu, Adiuma Me.
"Lina, they're only dreams. They can't hurt you or me. I'm not dying, am I?" Gourry tried to reassure the girl, to little avail. When he cupped her fine chin in his large hand to look at her face, he realized how exhausted she really was, and wondered if there was something more to the dreams...
If
you should go you should know I love you.
If you should go you
should know I'm here.
Always be near me, guardian angel.
Always
be near me, there's no fear.
(None at all)
Gourry was about to bolster Lina's confidence again when he noticed the said sorceress was already dozing next to him on the bed. With a tired sigh, Gourry curled himself protectively, reassuringly behind her, and before slumber took him as well, whispered into the darkness, into Lina's ears, her heart
"I will never leave you…my love."
Na
na no, na na no...
As the light of day filled his room, the first thing Gourry noticed was Lina. Or lack thereof. He was about to tear apart the place looking for her, when an all-too-familiar face peaked into the room. Gourry smiled. If Lina was still stressed out, he couldn't tell. "Hey, come on sleepyhead! I heard there's an all-you-can-eat buffet down the road! If we don't hurry, all the food will be gone!"
"Coming, Lina!"
Domine,
Domine Deus,
Domine, Adiuva Me.
Domine, Domine Deus,
Domine,
Adiu, Adiuma Me.
Elsewhere, a certain mazoku smiled mischievously.
"Well, it seems the dreams turned out to be a nice little incentive, didn't they?"
Na na no, na na no...
