A storm was on its way, she knew it from the dark skies and the gray clouds. She could also smell the wetness in the air. She knew that she should go inside, that if she didn't she would probably get ill-but she didn't care.
"Friend Raven?"
The wind almost drowned out the alien princess, and Raven wished that it had. She did not want to face her teammate, in fact she was the whole reason that she came up here in the first place.
"I'm not really in the mood to talk, Starfire."
The alien steps forewords so that they are almost shoulder to shoulder, both looking out at the coming rain. The darker beauty looks at her friend from the corner of her eyes. She wishes that she wanted her gone, that she hated her-that she could show it. But she is Raven and she is Starfire so they both stand there for several moments, neither of them uttering a word.
"On my planet we do not let men get in the way of friends."
She really hates this. She just wants to be alone right now. But she knows that Starfire is right-friendship should always go first. So she listens- for her friend.
"I will break up with him if you want me to."
Starfire is looking down at her now, wanting-hoping that her friend will say something-anything. It takes awhile, but her amethyst eyes finally meet her emerald ones.
"I want you to be happy, and if you think that your happiness lies with him, then I, as you friend give you my blessing."
She expects a massive hug, one that will make her feel like she will never breathe again. Instead she feels a hand inside hers, squeezing but not too tight. When she looks up she sees the alien with a small smile on her face and as she leans into her friend, she knows she did the right thing.
