Reminiscing
I sat blissfully at my window, glancing drearily out my window. In my emerald green eyes, it reflected my sorrow. Huge droplets of rain, illuminated by the fiery orb-like sun that peeked through the swollen bellies of the grayish clouds, showered over the dry earth. As if, a final attempt to cover up the sadness welling up in my throat. I couldn't get it out of my mind. That day, that fateful day when he left me. When he said goodbye.
-flashback-
He swollowed, a tear escaping his long, gorgeous lashes and making it's way down his cheek. His eyes, a mystifying dark violet, gazed with building sorrow at me. I felt his soft, cool fingers link through mine. Was he trembling? I leaned into his embrace, my tears wetting his red shirtr. The rain scattered all around us, pit-a-pating on the grayish umbrella he held tightly in one hand. A light mist rose in the distance, making it almost impossible to see past the next street. The world around us seemed blurred in tremendous melancholy, as if the world was a last day. "I'll write you." He finally said, his deep, smooth voice hoarse. I barely nodded, my chin trembling as he kissed my forehead gently. "Hitomi… I…" He pulled me closer. "I… I love-" A distant horn blew, interrupting him. He gripped my hand tighter, as if afraid to ever let me go. "I have to go." He said finally, as the horn blew a second time. He gazed one last time in my eyes. I could never forget that moment. The utter sorrow and pain, all mixed up together, in his eyes. Those violet tinted pupils, they'll haunt me forever. He leaned down, as our lips met for the very last time. His kiss felt like soft petals resting on my lips. Why couldn't that moment just last forever? As soon as I'd thought that, the horn blew again, one last, final time, almost annoyed. He drew back, and handed me the umbrella. As I took it from him, his hand brushed mine gently, like the pastel petals of a blossom. He picked up his luggage and turned, ebony locks matted down by the rain. As he walked away, my heart shattered into a million pieces. Fat tears of grief poured down my cheeks. He turned, smiling weakly at me. "Goodbye Hitomi. I'll see you soon?" He said, his words a question, yet both of us knew we just couldn't answer.
