Her tanned legs dangled from the roof of her apartment building with light raindrops tickling her skin.

She put out her arm and watched raindrops fall onto her gracefully.

She had been up on the roof for awhile, just enjoying the peacefulness that the rain had given her. It was soothing to her; it'd always calm her if someone couldn't. It rained very much where she lived so she never had to worry about the rain not being able to soothe her. And even on the rarest days and when the rain didn't come, she'd have the sunlight. She enjoyed the sunlight just as much as she enjoyed the rain.

She looked down below causing her blood red hair to fall over her shoulders. The people below were either walking faster to avoid getting wet or walking slow and enjoying it like she was. She watched a young couple dance around, laughing and sharing small glances and kisses.

She could feel tears beginning to slip from her bright emerald eyes, but nobody would be able to tell because of the rain. Honestly, she yearned for what that couple were displaying.

Affection.

She could say she yearned for love, but she already had love. She loved someone greatly and that person loved her just as much, but affection was a different.

Her loved one was gone a lot. She didn't get to see him as much as she wanted too. She wanted to dance in the rain with him, and steal glances and small kisses while laughing so much and just enjoy the presence of each others company.

But he traveled and was always on business and she was an artist and didn't travel the world anymore like she had used too. Time was limited when they were together. Sometimes she wondered if he really went to business trips and instead went off with random girls. If that was the case, she'd be broken. Her heart would be shattered like an expensive piece of glass and far to broken beyond repair.

More tears started threatening to escape, but this time she willingly let them fall. She very much hoped that he would never do such a thing to her. They've been together for so long, he wouldn't throw eight years down the drain, right? Together since they were fifteen years old... but he could fall out of love.

She closed her eyes tight, wishing for all the bad thoughts to leave her mind at once. He would never do such a thing. Never.

The rain became harder, drenching her red hair causing her curls to fall out, but she didn't care.

She once again looked down at the people below and saw the couple had left and people were running away from the rain. It honestly confused her. People say they love the rain, yet they run or have umbrellas so it doesn't touch them. Maybe... just maybe. He could say that he loves her and not mean it.

She let out a frustrated growl and placed her face in her hands, so very angry that the thoughts wouldn't leave her alone. Why couldn't he just stay with her for more than two days? Why did his father make him take control of the business? Why was she doubting him?

Her head shot up in realization that she was doubting him. Doubting the person she was hopelessly in love with him. He wouldn't go behind her back because he loves her. He leaves all the time because he has a business to take care of and a father to please. She shouldn't be thinking such awful things about the man she loved.

She sighed and looked up into the gloomy sky as the rain became light again and her tears stopped flowing.

"Kori?" A voice intruded her peacefulness.

She jumped a little, but a smile formed as she looked back at who it was. "Richard..."

Maybe she'd get her dance and kisses in the rain after all.
