Rory spend the evening making perfect little bows, making sure each of the gifts he prepared had one. He remembered fondly how his mother used to leave little gifts in his and his brother's shoes and how every year he triple checked if he took each one out.
He knew it was a strange custom, just like the little weird wafer his mother made them all share, all the while giving wishes to each other on Christmas Eve, but he loved it.
So, on St. Nicholas's Day he went around Lima, knocking on his friend's doors. He told them on Friday he was going to, so they all just opened their doors with smiles on their faces.
The gifts weren't really special – some chocolate, maybe something small and not really costly if he was closer to someone. But all the same, they were in small packages with perfect little bows on top.
He finally reached the last house he wanted to visit. He rang the doorbell, grinning.
He wasn't really surprised when Blaine of all people opened the front door to the Hudmel house.
"Come in" He smiled, offering him a cup of hot chocolate. Rory was about to decline, when a jumpy Rachel tugged him into the living room.
Rory slowly took off his coat, leaving the Santa hat he had on. Kurt and Finn were sitting on the couch, arguing about which Christmas movie they should watch, when Blaine cleared his throat.
"Hi Rory" Kurt waved his hand, before going back to yelling at Finn.
"Sup, dude" Finn nodded his head with the goofy smile he constantly had on his face.
Rory's smile widened, as he started to take out the small gifts he had for them. He handed Rachel's first, accepting the warm hug she gave him in return. Kurt reacted pretty much the same as Rachel, while Blaine just smiled with glee and patted him on the back.
When it was Finn's turn, the giant twirled the package in his hands, thinking.
"You Irish are pretty weird, man."
Rory chuckled, shaking his head.
"It's not an Irish custom" He took a sip of the chocolate, smiling. "My ma's Polish. That's where it comes from."
