Just something I thought up when I was about to go to sleep. I think I should have started with this fic instead of The New Kid, but oh well. I'll update the New Kid soon too, so don't worry. Anyways, this fic is a more angsty and I'm writing it in a different style.
Enjoy!

"Why, Secchan!? Why do you have to leave!?" Konoka, already a beautiful girl at age 5, had tears in her eyes.
Setsuna said nothing, looking far too solemn for a child her age. She couldn't see anything except the ground. Konoka couldn't tell what she was thinking.
"I don't want you to go! I don't care if you didn't save me from the river. You're my best friend. You're my only friend!" Konoka looked at Setsuna with eyes filled with pain, wishing, hoping, praying, she would say something to comfort her. She didn't.
"I don't want to be left alone, Secchan. It hurts. Please don't leave me alone…" Konoka was sobbing into her hands now.
The room was filled with a suffocating silence that was only broken by Konoka's sad hiccups.
She looked up when a comforting warmth enveloped her. Setsuna was hugging her and squeezing her eyes shut, with wetness starting to leak from them.
"I'm sorry," she whispered, over and over again. "I'm sorry I couldn't protect you. I'm sorry that I'm leaving. I'm sorry I hurt you. And most of all, I'm sorry I made you cry."
She couldn't stand it if Konoka was sad. She didn't deserve it. She was an angel, sent to the earth to make it a better place. If anything, she should have all the happiness the world had to offer. But now, she was crying, and each tear shot knives through Setsuna's heart, and knowing that she was the one who caused them made the pain all the worse. She had to do something, anything, to stop her heart from aching.
"Don't cry Kono-chan. Please don't cry. I will come back. I'll come back even stronger and I'll protect you forever and ever. I promise."
"Secchan…" Konoka whispered. She buried her head into Setsuna's shoulder. Tears were still falling freely from her eyes, and she made no effort to stop them. They fell asleep that way, with Setsuna sitting against the wall, and Konoka leaning against her, their arms wrapped around each other.
Both slept uneasily.

The next day, Setsuna left. She hugged Konoka and left without looking back. Konoka stood there even after she couldn't see her anymore.
'I will come back. I'll come back even stronger and I'll protect you forever and ever. I promise.'
She wanted to believe that. She had to believe that.

"Secchan!" Konoka laughed as she chased after Setsuna.
"Ojou-sama…" Setsuna cried as she was jumped on.
"Mou…" Konoka pouted. "No more of that 'Ojou-sama' stuff. It's Kono-chan!"
Setsuna blushed. "H-hai… Kono-chan…"
Konoka smiled happily and hugged her. "You're so cute Secchan." Setsuna's face turned into a tomato. Konoka kept her arms around the swordsman and Setsuna finally got the courage to hug her back.
"Ne, Secchan. I'm glad you kept your promise." Setsuna's eyes widened.
"Of course I would Oj- " She paused when Konoka glared at her. "I mean, Kono-chan. If I didn't, you would be unhappy and then everything would hurt again…" She mumbled the last part.
Konoka hugged her protector even tighter. "Thank you." She whispered.
And then she smiled.

Hope you're happy with it, or at least vaguely okayish about it. This isn't really what happened between them, but I think it's a good scenario between them. Thanks for reading!
